Tour PXG Gen 4 prototype drivers - new putters

When are the next round of Battle Ready putters being released. I have to move on from the One and Done.

If anyone has hit the gen 3 vs gen 4 irons, is there any difference? I played a set of the 0311t gen, love the feel but I found the turf interaction to be terrible and heard that was a big problem for alot of folks. Wondering if the gen 3 or 4 is much improved? Thanks

Pretty sure Austin Ernst just won the LPGA Tour event with the Gen  4 driver. The black & white crown was easily visible on TV.

picked up a tensei av raw yesterday so I think its only suitable to pair it with

a gen 4 3w

Yeah I’ve got a good rapport with my club PXG staffer and local PXG reps, but I’m done with PXG if I don’t get the discount after paying $425/stick and people who paid $199-$340 get a discount

I spoke to my fitter at length today (he has fit me two previous times and has been spot on with his assessments). Here are a few of the notes:

 

-The Gen 4 irons fly “really straight”. Fitted some very good players this weekend and their description of the feel was “snappy” and “super clean”. 

 

-The biggest takeaway: with the Gene 4 irons, the T heads are generating the same ball speeds as the Gen 3 Ps

 

-The driver is very good; a college player picked up enough ball speed over his gamer that his coach questioned whether or not the club was legal (I know the catcalls will come with this one...I am only reporting what I heard). 

 

-My fitter said everyone loves the new Bat Attack (battle ready) putter.

 

-A full bag fitting includes a new bag

I was fit last week for the Gen4 P and they produced numbers I had not seen from an iron. Very straight, great launch angles, and high ball speeds.. FOR ME.
 

I have been fit for Gen3 before and know the Gen4 was better for me. I did not hit Gen3 during this quick fitting for Gen4. 
 

Can’t wait for the driver.

I am with you ! I immediately ordered the   Gen 4 Ps and ordered the Gen 4 driver as well . 
 

Delivery should be mid-April for the clubs.

Tell us more about the driver please. Which one do you order? How did you like the look of the crown?

I am getting a little older...so I went with the XF; 10.5 degree with a Tour AD DI shaft (although I will probably game my Ventus Red). 
 

The contrasting color on the crown is silver... IMO distinctive, but not distracting. 
 

The XT is definitely a smaller “tour” head.

I was surprised on how well the Gen 4 irons behaved during my fitting. My ball speed also went up by a lot over my Gen 2 and slightly over Gen 3. They are straight. I normally draw the ball and I was hitting a consistent cut with them. 

 

I was set on getting the Gen 3 full bag as it's a good deal but all day I've been thinking about it and may just do the Gen 4 full bag. Sell the putter, and whichever driver loses. Haha

Gen 4 clubs are live on PXG website. No price drops for Gen 2, Gen 3, or Proto clubs, as of now. Heroes Pricing is $520 for Gen 4 driver, $350 for Gen 4 fairway, $300 for Gen 4 hybrid, and $300/club for Gen 4 irons.

Anyone compared the  Gen 4 Drivers versus the Protos?  I guess they map X->X, X+->XF and the XT is new?

Any of the stock offerings. I just paid the difference for the upgraded shafts in my irons and wedges. Same can be done with the woods. You can also upgrade the bag if you want, and pay the difference. You pick any hat they have. I'm just waiting for the Gen 4 woods to come in so I can get fit for them.

What bag is included? I scheduled my fitting for the end of the month in hope the heads are in by then.

Heads are due in, in early April and it is an upgrade program not trade-in.  That gives time to sell some of the backlog of benchwarmers 🙂

Negative. I was at PXG chicago today. Same shafts, nothing more. Kind of a limited selection if you ask me. Weakest part of their fitting.

Very limited options now. When they first released their Gen 1 woods you could get about any shaft you wanted. That’s when I first got fitted at the Scottsdale location. Now their shaft options, upgrades included are very small which makes no sense to me. This is the main reason I won’t be looking info the Gen 4’s.
