I wonder how these are different from last years TD.. I had one and it was good.

Last years TD was awesome.  Was as good or a little better than the PX Hulk on a launch monitor for me.  Hopefully the previous version drops in price if these come to retail.

I still have mine. I cut it down to 3 wood length. Really wish I had not done that.. But experiments must be done and sometimes there are mistakes..

It is the cost of doing business. Haha. I saw this thread pop up and I got to wondering if you stuck with this.

Maybe they adjusted the balance. The previous ones were nice but the swing-weights came out very heavy.

Absolutely is !   I fell into one in a mavrik combo and boy do I hit it good.   I too tested it against the hulk , and wasnt a real contest.  The TD beat it in feel , dispersion and overall spin / launch numbers.   Best part is , it translates to the course.

very underrated shaft and not enough talk on them... ive got it in driver and 3w for my SIM. Love them

I am interested as to why was it a bad move?

 

I have one and found that on the driver I gained much needed spin and launch from the TD, as I need those two even more in my fairway I cut it and it now has a Ping tip waiting for the G425 Max fairway and if that doenst work out it's going into a Sim2 Max 3hl fairway..

Just in the sense that i cant put it back in a driver and it is possibly a little light to be in a fairway wood. Their shafts run on the lighter side. Meaning their 70 gram shaft is right at 70 grams before being cut. So cutting it down means it is sub 70 grams.. I should have just left it a driver shaft and if I really wanted to fairway wood shaft I should have gotten an 80 gram shaft.. 

 

Its a weight thing. Maybe not a big deal but I don't like having fairway wood shafts that are lighter than my driver shaft..

I love the shaft. I've been playing different iterations of the Fubuki Alpha in my driver(currently Mavrik Max) for years. I went into the J and then the last one was the Fubuki V. 

I was playing KBS Tour V in my previous set of irons and this year went into the KBS TGI iron shafts. Also put a KBS Tour Proto hybrid in my Apex UT and loved it as well as the

 new iron shafts. So I figured, I have to try the TD in my driver. It was literally love at first swing. I did no testing with it at all. Bought one and put it straight in the bag.

Kicked the Fubuki V right out of the bag into my back up Rogue head.

i love kbs iron shafts.  I have never even had a chance to try a kbs driver shaft let alone see one.  Hard to commit to a $150-$200 upgrade on a new driver if they aren't available to test out.

For Sure! I enjoyed switching into the hybrid shaft in my UT and then the graphite irons, so the TD driver shaft wasn't that big a leap of faith for me. Also reading some positive reviews helped. 

I got mine off eBay for a good price with the adaptor already on it. Came from a Callaway fitting cart I think. I figured if it wasn't for me, I could sell it for what I paid.

for some reason I spin kbs tour 130s less than my old SS x100.  I know its not supposed to be that way but it is what it is.  If I could get a similar result out of my hybrid, 5wood and driver that would be great.  looking for something mid launch and low spin.

It's not unusual for a particular shaft to give different results then expected or advertised. You would be playing a stiffer shaft in the TD than I have in my driver. I think I'd say mine is high launch, moderate-low spin. One thing I do know is that the TD shaft has a little more weight in the bottom third of the shaft. Check out the TXG review on YouTube to see more on that.

My guess is this new prototype might be something you would consider once it makes it's way to retail. And I'm sure it will at some point because I saw an interview with Kim Braly where he said they would expand on the original TD in the future.
