Shorter Ailignment Sticks

Does anyone know of a company that makes alignment sticks but in small lengths? P. Reed had one today that was about 24 inches. Looked online but I couldn't really find anything similar.

Most are fiberglass so that's a bit harder. I could order new wood ones and cut them I just wasn't sure if there was a company that made them. If I'm going to order some to cut I might as well see if a company sales what I'm actually looking for.

Most folks use driveway markers from hardware stores - typically they sell 48 inch but some carry shorter.   See 24 inch in 20 packs online for about $20.

If you are lucky your local store may even have a few in stock.  20 is a bit much.   I know my hd and Lowe’s both carry the standard 48 and a 60 or 72 inch.  Never checked on the 24s.

Its not a storage issue its about using it as a training aid for my swing.

Then it wouldn't seem to matter whether 24" or longer if you are laying them on the ground, but there are definitely different ways they can be used where shorter would matter - no idea how Reed uses them (is he doing that under the armpit thing with a stick?).  I didn't like them longer because they would work their way under a head cover and rub against my driver/3w, etc., but I carried them in my bag.

Yeah its the under the armpit technique which I find to be a lot harder with the longer ones.

Ruined so many drivers . Love hate driveway markers. Also dinged crap out of an iron using it instead and accidentally hit it

I don't use them any more, but years ago I finally bought some after using my 3w, head forward and facing in - one topped, low shank and the top of the head exploded.

The fiberglass driveway markers cut well if you wrap the stick with duct tape before cutting with a hacksaw.

Shaft pulls worked fine until five years ago or so when people realized they needed to spend more money on something just for the sake of it.  Have me fitted for a straight jacket if I ever buy “alignment stick headcovers.”

Alignment stock covers are a must imo unless you want your woods all nicked up

 My "hack" for this: loop the metal clasp of your range finder around your alignment sticks. Range finder hangs nice on the "top corner" of the bag and alignment sticks stay flush to one side of your bag, away from your precious metal woods!

go to Home depot, buy a pair of fiberglass driveway markers typically used for snow plow markers and cut to length. They're about $8-10 a pair, come in multiple colors and have a machined "point" on one end for ground entry, should you want to us them other than for on ground alignment.

I'm watching the SD Open on Sky Sports. They just showed Reed practicing with the short alignment stick under his right armpit. Didn't know he was working with Leadbetter now. I live north of Houston, thought he was still with Kevin Kirk.
