Please bring back TM adjustable 3HL fairway woods

Recommended Posts

The SIM2 Fairway marks the 3rd consecutive release for TM where they don't have a 3HL option in their adjustable fairway wood. For the longest time I've been buying adjustable 3HL/4 woods and cranking the loft down to give me a 3 wood loft with an open face. I thought there were lots of other (usually better) golfers doing the same, but maybe not? Anybody know the rationale as to why they stopped? I assume sales numbers, but maybe something else...

Do you have to have the latest model? Nothing wrong with OG 2016 M1 3HL...

I want the 3HL just to help me with launch angle, and I don’t want to close the club face of a 3 wood when I add loft. I’m looking at a few M3 3HL on eBay for that reason.

Have you thought about getting a 5w and play the shaft to 3w length?

Swingweight would be too light.  And if you add a heavier shaft to offset it brings in other factors.

I’ve done it with m5 and g410 with no issues. Ordered thru ping fitting and they got the swingweight right. Ping fitter didn’t specify the swingweight on the order.  The sim I ordered they will peoples and have had no issues with the m5 and I didn’t specify any specific swingweight to will

I’ve actually got the ‘17 M1 and in no rush to replace it. But TM would have me thinking about it if there were new ones...

Actually playing a heavier (5 wood) head with longer shaft (from 3 wood) would make heavier swing weight

I have Sim Ti 19* turned down to around 17.5* with 42.5” shaft and is perfect D3-4

and no need for a 3 HL

although new Sim2 Ti is intriguing they are smaller (20 cc in the 5 wood) so think the OG Sims are better for making a “4 wood”

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
