$1200 Tyson Lamb Captian America Ball Marker!?

Is this actually real!?  Are these things really going for this kind of money?  I have looked all over Ebay and this is the only completed auction I have found?  Any input here?

$1,200 for a ball marker?

That's, umm, nice.

This is when items move out of the "tools to use" territory and into the "collectible" zone. That's when things get crazy.

I must say, I'm sort of curious as to what drives a person to become a dedicated ball-marker collector, but hey, it's his/her money, and as long as they acquired it through legal and ethical means, then I don't care how he/she spends it.

None of these guys probably even take them on the course unless they just take pics.

Also people wonder why he's not making that many putters these days, no need when he can just pump out ball makers and tools.

Check out Lambcrafted BST on facebook.  $1200 is high for that ball marker, but they routinely fetch $800-900 for the stainless model.  The brass and copper can fetch higher.  Yes, it's ridiculous and crazy, but that's the market and you can say that about a lot of things people get interested in.  Watches, shoes, you name it.  They were about $65 new a few years ago.

I hear what you’re saying, but that exact logic can be applied to Olson’s putters. I feel the same way about Olson’s stuff. It’s awesome, but a bit overpriced. Others obviously don’t because he sells out his flash sales in like a minute (even though I see many of these Olson putters put up for sale immediately thereafter for minimal markup and not get sold). The devil’s in the details and name-brand on this kind of stuff. If someone is a flashy “sunglasses” and “skulls” guy, they definitely aren’t buying an Olson, right? They would feel like $700 for a Swag putter is way more worth it to them than $1,000 for an Olson. Not trying to hate here, just saying...

I feel what you are saying. Everything is overpriced though right? For Olson flash sales I got one for $600 iirc plus shipping. Thing was a work of art, hands down best putter in the form of quality. Not best feeling out there but wasn't exact milling/spec I would use. For roughly $1,000 you can get a good stainless custom putter, not GSS, Damascus, copper I understand that. Lamb you are $4-5k plus for not sure what more you get? Swag is for the flashy sunglasses and skulls guy whereas Olson/Lamb is for the more sophisticated not as flashy golfer maybe? Hard to say all I know is no way I would spend the money for a Lamb or understand why people do either

I’ve got a 1975 (the year a certain Tiger Woods was born) quarter that is used, but would consider it mint condition, AND it has been put in play on a course that used to host a senior PGA Tour event that I’d be willing to part with for $.75 plus shipping. I could also provide pics if you’re interested. LMK 😂

I have wondered the same thing about not making putters, but then I realize "supply and demand".  If he keeps the number of available putters in the market low, it will drive the price up high. I also will say that I know nothing about this guy, but I get the feeling that he doesn't really need the money and this is a "pet project".  WAY too much money being spent on a new facility with really nothing in the market except for ball markers and divot tools.  Again, just a hunch.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen regarding Lamb products lol. His families wealth has nothing to do with what he charges or says lol.

I agree with him, I think he is a rich guy/family that doesn't need the business and he does it to stay busy. Sort of like a rich kid that has to "have a job" to get their inheritance money, kinda feels like that to me. $5000 putter if you don't want it kick rocks that is all I offer should be his motto

This hurts.

So these "Captain America" ball markers came out before Lamb became so popular you cant even buy his stuff before bots buy it up. A buddy told me about the Lamb dude making donut ball markers that were pretty unique and he had this cool looking Captain America one coming out Sunday morning. Remembered to check Sunday morning and snagged one. First tournament I played in I had the great idea to use the new marker and lost it. Fell out of my pocket at some point.
