Shaftoids - I need your help

Hey Guys, I'm buying a new SIM 2 three wood and trying to decide on what shaft flex to get. I'm looking at the Ventus Blue Velecor 7 but I'm not sure if I should go Stiff or X. I've always live somewhere right on the edge. For instance, I play X Stiff KBS Tours soft stepped one time in my irons. I have the Evenflow Black X in my hybrid and I have really got along well with that. My driver swing speed is around 110 but gets up around 115 after I get losened up a bit. My swing is a bit longer with a smooth transition rather than short and aggressive. I plan to use the three wood off the tee more often than out of the fairway, but obviously need this to be capable of hitting quality shots into the green and not just low bullets off the tee.

Maybe I am overthinking this and should simply go with the Evenflow Riptide in the 6.5 but with the Ventus shafts being all the rage, I thought it would be worth trying one out.

P.S. - I know the answer is always, "hit everything and see" but I live in the middle of nowhere and it's not easy to find a place within 2 hours of me that has all the shafts, etc. so I'm ordering this a bit blind no matter how I do it.

Thanks for your help!

If it's a tee club, then just use the same one as your driver but the next weight up. Simples.

It’s not a tee club. It’s a standard three wood. Yes, I’ll use it off the tee more than from the fairway but that’s simply due to the length of courses I generally play and rarely having 260+ into a green.

In the ventus line the S will hold up just fine if you like to feel the load. .  But if you prefer the boardy er feel then go X.  X isn’t X and s isn’t s. There is no standard

For example. Graphite design stuff. Their X Is like S+.  And some here are going to lose their mind for me saying that.  Because they like the X printed on their shafts. But it’s true.  So for ventus you’ll be fine with either choose based on feel and flight. The S should get up a touch quicker.  And feel like  it loads and unloads. The X will hit bullets and take  anything you can dish at it.

Ok, so it's a tee club....again, use the same shaft as your driver, just the next weight up. Or, if you think sometimes it's 50/50 then use the other model, i.e. ventus black in driver and blue in fairway.

this is a really good take as I play the Tour AD-IZ 6X in my driver and have played the kbs stiff + in past irons. The only reason I soft stepped the X flex in this set of irons is that PXG doesn’t offer the stiff + in their builds.
