Lol. I was hoping for a normal at address pic on a flat surface.  And yes I did see these photos already and reversed the TXG pic. I find the stock pics like above to always look a little different than at address with a real pic and with a golf ball.  I’m waiting for more YouTube reviews to see at address pics.  Few and far between apart from TXG.   I don’t think our local Golftown has these yet.

I just had a fitting and hit everything from the Titleist TSi2 (which was the driver that worked best for me) to the cobra, Ping G425, Callaway, and the Mizuno gave me the best launch, spin and carry numbers and was also the one I made the most consistent contact with. I think its a great feeling fairway wood. Obviously your mileage may vary. I wasn't even thinking about a Mizuno wood but I'm sure glad I tried it.

Did you see any difference in launch angle and spin between the stz and tsi2?

For the size and shape of this head it is incredible easy to get in the air.

I am likely getting the 5 wood. I waggled it at the store, it is on the larger side, which I really liked. Love that it is stock flatter lie angle than most. The 3 wood looks great as well. This is a good year for fairways, though, so tough not to have a wandering eye.

I got a much better launch angle from the stz. I was having a bit of trouble getting a proper launch angle with the tsi, especially off the mat.  I don’t recall spin numbers. The feel off the face was fantastic. It was surprising since I had fit into such good spin and launch numbers with the tsi driver.

Thanks!  This somewhat seals the deal for me as these 2 were on my short list.  Was also considering the G425 but after seeing it in person, they are just too shallow for my taste.

Yeah the G425 was the worst of the bunch for me, and I didn’t like how the ball felt off the face.

I have the 5 wood in the motore 70 s shaft.  (And the 10.5 STZ 60s)

It’s early days as the ranges aren’t open here in the UK yet. I’m in Wales so have managed a few rounds. I’ve only hit the 5 maybe a dozen times.

The first thing that struck me was the shape. It’s on the larger side, compared with, say,my old MP ti 5 wood but smaller than my old TEE XG 5 wood.
The shape is very nice behind the ball and a relatively deep face makes it look inviting to hit. The crown looks pretty cool and frames the ball well.  It sits slightly open to my eye in the neutral setting (I had planned to turn it down to a 4 wood once I can see data)

The sound is extremely nice. A solid thwack is how I’d describe it. Not woody or tingy.

As others have said, it’s easy to launch (bearing in mind this is the 5) and certainly doesn’t lack for distance. You’re not buying this if you want the longest fairways available, but rather, the woods that are going to give ease of use and a good descent angle into greens.

Having said that the 3 wood could turned into a mini driver as there’s 2* adjustability available.

So far so good for me. A nice alternative off the tee and trouble free off the deck. Don’t be put off by people saying it’s too big. It’s bigger than some tour types but not ungainly by any means (same size as a Ping 425max at 170cc 5 wood)

It certainly isn’t draw biased as I’ve seen some people guess. The 200x fairway is still in the line up for that and that sits more closed.

Im a self confessed Mizuno fan so take my opinion with a pinch of salt maybe, but it’s nice to see Mizuno woods very much at the top of people’s “to try” lists

The driver is great too, BTW. Noticeably better results on poor strikes so far than my old ST 190 and a much, much more pleasing sound.

Needs a fitting to get the most from that MIzzy, and he's not doing it.

Looks as if wrong shaft for Newton, wrong swing weight - correct both in a fitting and he will get more ball speed. Length at 45 inches is good as a starting point.

Finding that driver SW at D4-5 gets one more ball speed.

The ST-X head he's using has the 4g aluminum weight which is unfortunate since the club is an absolute hammer with the 11g steel weight. Mine is heavy both in overall weight, and a higher SW than I was used to and I love it. With a 75g shaft, it's only 10g lighter than my 3-wood and it's a bomber. First time in a couple seasons that I'm happy with a driver that I hit absolutely straight with plenty of distance.

For some additional trivia, the weight port has an M12-1.0 thread, so it will be harder to adjust SW on these unless just using hot melt since Mizuno only offers the 4g and 11g weights...

Waiting for the 5 wd to arrive. Two weeks more, I believe if their 6-7 week waiting time holds.

I looked at these in a golf shop.  Didnt hit them but I really liked them visually and how they sat.  Very square and perfect lie angle.  Most fairways are too upright.  I will be ordering these to try against my pings.  Would love to hear some more feedback from those that have tried.

Did you get these? If so how do they compare to the pings?

While I can't compare to ping fairways, I have been testing the stz fairway. I've hit tm sim ti, sim2 ti, ts3, and tsi3 with the same shaft as my gamer. My gamer is a 17m2. I put my backup gamer shaft in the stz 3wood.

Stz compared to all of them spins more and launches a bit higher. I have the stz lofted down 1 notch and it spins about the same as my 17m2 at 15*. Dispersion on the range was tighter with stz. Haven't put the stz in play yet. Probably won't for a couple of weeks since I have a tournament Saturday and I don't like to put a new club in play that hasn't been hit on course before.

You can use the 11 and  grind weight off the end of the weight. Just use a scale and go down 1 or 2 g at the time.  Just a thought. I’ve done that on several heads , especially callaway sub zeros.  Use two heavy weights and tune the rear one to exact launch and feel. Obviously don’t grind all the threads off or you can’t reattach.

Excited to see the 2022 release of these drivers, hopefully with a weighted option!

For some reason - since Mizuno decided to get serious about drivers with the release of the ST190 - they have not been very friendly with the weighting and supporting enthusiasts. For such an 'enthusiast brand' with a cult following knowing full on their fanbase most likely tinkers with their clubs, they have poorly supported that IMO.

The fact that they dont offer the weights and in their own responses and PPTs acknowledge along the lines of 'we dont want end users messing with that stuff' is really disappointing.

Ping was better.  I hit a few shots with the mizuno and they just did not work and the feel was not what I expected.  Sold them.  I like the 425 LST fairway (425 driver sucked).  And the g410 standard fairways too....taylormade are hot and cold. Dont like the odd hot ball with TM.  Tsi2 is good as well.  My thoughts as if now....

Didn't feel the need to do so since the 11g weight was perfect. Had I wanted to drop a couple grams, was just going to drill in the center from the back, but all went well with the current weight as-is.
