I agree those are very attractive. Just operating from memory(which at best is unreliable) it appears to have a beefier muscle towards the toe and sole of the club. And I doubted Callaway would do right by the Hogan name...seems I owe them an apology. Perhaps I shall hang my head in shame for 15 minutes or so.

Wow, Hogan has always made an extremely nice blade. Very elegant and classy. I have always had the same gripe and it is very anal but I cannot stand the red ringed ferrules. I mean come on... what is wrong with a plain black ferrule. If I want style I will do a custom paintfill or some sweet aftermarket finish. The company achieves nothing with some flashy ferrule... Well, ok. Maybe I'm a total rod for bitching about something as simple as a ferrule. But, a ferrule should be just that - simple.

Anyway, enough negativity. Super sweet looking sticks. Hogan knows nice blades.

Does anyone remember the commemorative set the company released back in 2003 celebrating 50 years? Anyway, this 2006 model looks very very similar. I'll try to get a pic posted if I can find one.

The Apex 50's have a semi-circular weight pad as a muscle. These are flat back design, like the Nike Blades or the Mizuno Mp-9's.

I like them.

Yeah, I like those. I agree with the above post...I was a little afraid to see what would come out from Hogan with Callaway running the show...actually, I was just afraid that Hogan would be gone all together. I think these look great, though I've ALWAYS liked the looks of Hogans. I wonder if they have a lower trajectory than the 2002 Apex blades I'm playing now??

I'm very glad to see that Callaway hasn't totally destroyed the Hogan name... those are some beautiful blades

These were already designed long ago. Perhaps because the money was already spent on tooling they decided to go ahead with releasing them. The true test will be when the sales on these taper off and a replacement is needed. Don't forget that although the Hogan name and club is well respected the facts are their sales are miniscule % wise. Even before Callaway bought them the sales were about the same as the MacGregor forging sales.

These new apex blades are virtually identical to the 1988 Apex model - with the addition of the hogan sunburst crest on the back of the blade. I've played nothing but Apex irons throughout the years and currently have the 98 Apex in my bag. Looks like an upgrade is in the near future. Curious where this pic came from?

The picture is out of the 2006 Callaway product catalog any authorized dealer has.

Why recycle the exact same head? I used to play Hogan, and get every new set as it was released. It just doesn't make sense now-all they are doing is re-releasing the same thing. Mizuno, TM and Titleist as well as some other companies are coming up with new stuff. No wonder Hogan doesn't sell now-just my 2 cents-

I love the look, don't get me wrong, but if they are coming out with new stuff, why did they scrap PGA TOUR sponsorship's? Bernhard and Byrd are the only Hogan people now, right?

Guess Furyk didn't care for them. He tried them and switched to Srixon according to the rep. Maybe he wanted a cavity back.

Furyk doesn't hit blades anyway, so him liking or not liking them probably didn't matter much.

Well, it's not the exact same head. It may look similar, but most blades do. How similar are the Mizuno MP-33 and MP-37? What about Titleist 680, 690, and 681 irons? There is more a of difference in the new Hogan blade than the Titleisit and Mizuno irons. There is only so much you can do with a blade. Of course they will all look similar. Just my opinion.

Here's a pic of the new Apex 2006 blade. I believe they will keep the current Apex 50 in the line and the specs for the new baldes are exactly the same as the current model. I for one can't wait to get my hands on a set.
