Any confirmation that there will be an updated 2021 Left Dash  along with the new V1 and V1x?

Nope. But it could happen tomorrow (but won't). Titleist is very active on tour with 'custom' golf balls and like the left dash they have 7 or 8 balls they could bring to market if they wanted to and felt there would be the demand.

It is kind of crazy to think that a Titleist pro has about ?50? ball options in theory, and about 20 legitimate options to choose from. I say 50 as in theory they could play a non premium ball, the other 20 comes from the fact they have 7-8 prototype balls(7), the current 2021 Pro V1 (3) offerings and then they stock and have players using the last 4 or 5(10) versions of the Pro V1 and V1x.

Thanks, fella!  My goal is for this to be a definitive consultation.  I am a gear freak that has learned a ton over the years.  And, I still can't for the life of me figure out which ball I should play with Titleist.....

I played the X for years.  Then.... "THE FLIP" or "FLIPGATE" happened.  If I 'm honest, ever since then I've been completely baffled....  spin causes launch (to a degree; pun intended).  In the past the X was always the low launch/low spin.  Now, the V is the low launch, low spin.  Or is it?  To further complicate, I'm hearing from Wunder and folks that now they are "back to normal" or how they used to be.  Yet, the marketing data on the 21s sure seem like the 19s and that the V1 is low "low" ball.

My head actually hurts writing this....let alone picking which ball.

Lastly, when I do the online fit, it has me in the AVX...personally, I think that ball feels awful when I've tried it outside in warm weather.  If a ball feels too hard at 80 degree outside, I can't play it.

And yes, I know that the true test is outside in terms of what I would fit in the 21 model.  I've tried the left dash inside.  Man, that thing is hard....  Not sure if it would be better in warm weather.

I'm all ears if people have thoughts too.  Currently in 19 TP5X.

I, too, am a gear freak, and more specifically, a golf ball freak... so I think I can help a little hear with your frustration.

I've had access to the 2021 V and X prototypes for a couple of months now and have played and tested them thoroughly on course. Also, I have spent a fair amount of time with a Titleist rep discussing and playing the new balls. I will first share what the rep has told me about the balls and then share my experience with the balls with you.

From the Titleist Rep:
- 21 X will have the most spin separation of any Titleist ball made. In other words, the lowest spin off the tee with the highest spin into the green ratio.
- 21 X launchers higher and lands with a steeper angle of descent with a firmer feel.
- 21 V launches lower with a stronger angle of descent with a softer feel.
- 21 V and X will have fast speeds because of the new core and mantel.
- 21 V and X have the softest cover ever used on a Pro V
- 21 V and X have redesigned dimple pattern. Each ball has its own independent design.

From my experience playing the 21 balls
- 21 X launches higher than V with driver through mid irons
- 21 X has a firmer but more lively feel. V feels a bit more 'dead.'
- 21 X spins a bit more of the irons. Therefore I saw more carry with V on iron shots.
- 21 V has more greenside spin. Meaning it bites hard on short chips and bunker shots.
- 21 V was longer off the tee for me. I hit a high ball, so I believe the extra distance was from the shallow angle of decent and more roll.

In short, I would say Titleist marketing claims are correct. The only thing they don't mention is V having more greenside spin... but maybe that's just me.

Hope this helps a little!

Currently in 19 TP5X.

1. What about the 5X caused you to settle on it?

2. Is there anything you wish the 5X did better for you?

Great questions!

1.) great in the wind. long and lower spinning which helps me from ballooning through the bag

2.). Wish it launched lower

Hmm...not really sure that exists.  If you haven't already, you can try the Left Dash V1X but I doubt it would be THAT different. There will also be another OEM releasing a ball with the same performance characteristics as Left Dash and TP5X in March that will be worth giving a test drive, but again I'm not sure it will be different enough for you. With this kind of ball, if you want low launch you have to bring your own if that makes sense.

I would strongly suggest you give Tour BX a run. It’s a lower launching TP5x off the driver with TP5 spin around the greens. best balanced ball I’ve found.

Concur, Tour BX is well worth giving a test run.

MJ-

The '20 Callaway X ball is also quite good, likely would launch lower for you and is strong in the wind. However, it's on the higher end of spin for X type balls so is quite different from the 5X.

Love it all the guys, thx.  WRX is so great without snarky pointless jabs.  Really appreciate it!  I’ll take a look at all...

still want to hear about this March ball 😉

You are a meathead if you don't think wrx has snarky pointless jabs.

Oh I know.... pages upon pages of them.  See autoflex thread.

I just appreciate threads like this where people are keen to help, like BCFLY asking those two questions for no their reason then to be helpful.  Refreshing that’s all.

Now, the V is the low launch, low spin.

As I heard Tony Covey describe it on the last NPG that Titleist has a linear progression:

AVX is Low/Low, V is Mid/Mid, and X is High/High

The Left Dash Pro V1x is still in the Titleist range, as well. Low-Mid spin with High trajectory.
