I'm just making the switch to the Sonar+. Do you have any experience with them in humid and/or wet conditions?

They perform well when it’s damp out.  I’m really a fan of these grips.  Admittedly I haven’t tried some of the grips that a lot of people like a lot, like the no1’s, but these have remained tacky for a long time and performed well in all conditions.

Still Jumbomax Ultralight XL for me. Been almost 1.5 years and no way would I go back to standard or midsized grip. Or for that matter anyone elses Jumbo grip. No comparison to Jumbomax.

Installed them last night and have to say i really like them. I was worried that they might be too soft when just grabbing a loose grip in the store but Installed they feel great! Just right to me soft/firm wise. Feel nice and tacky too. Can't wait to get them out in play.

I demoed a few grips this offseason. Only play midsize grips.

1)GP MCC - Played all last season. Never developed a love for the hybrid grip where top and bottom hands feel different. Also started to feel like a wrap grip which I don't like. Bottom half can get slick for the colored versions. The mostly black grip lasts the longest.

2)GP Z Grip - One club demo. Excellent grip. A little too firm. A little thinner compared to other midsize. Would game if it was a little softer and not so expensive.

3)GP TV +4 - Three club demo. Thought these were the ones, but the lower hand is just too big. Awesome update on the classic tour velvet rubber. Softer, tackier, more traction.

3)Lamkin TS1 - One club demo. Reduced taper with +4 lower hand. Nice firm feel, good traction. Didn't like the change in texturing as you move down the grip. Lower hand too big. Upper hand definitely not midsize, felt like a standard grip.

4) Lamkin ST +2 with calibrate - One club demo. Perfect shape! Don't care for hybrid. Top half feels like a softer UTx. bottom half feels like a softer REL ACE. Much prefer align (external rib) to calibrate (internal rib). Overall a great grip, but too soft for me

5)GP TV Align - One club demo. The winner. External rib is a perfect reminder that gives you a reference for alignment, but allows you to manipulate the club comfortably. Same rubber as GP TV +4. Softer, tackier, and more traction vs classic TV. Decent price too.

Will be installing GP TV Align mid with +2 wraps on the lower hand this season.

Cobra Aerojet LS 10.5* - Hzrdus Black Gen 4 60 6.5 / Aerojet LS 3 - AD TP 7X / SZ Tour 5 - AD TP 8X / Apex 21 4H - AD IZ 95X / Cobra Tour 5-P, RTX6 50 M KBS $ Taper HT S+ / 56F - KBS 610S / 60M KBS Hi Rev 2.0 S/ White Hot OG #7 CH / Maxfli Tour

I manhandled some Lamkin SONAR+ grips on display at the local store. The tech guy warned me they have a unique feel which may not appeal to everyone. I liked the look and texture, but they are quite spongey. Not for me. Still loving the GP MCC.

Played golf pride ndmc the last 6-7 years & will be switching to gripmaster ’roo. Expensive but they should last a while & hopefully no more gloves.

They might be expensive up front but they last. My gripmasters wear in they don’t wear out. In years past they were still as good as new in year 4 as they were at the first use with anywhere from 50 to a 100 rounds plus practice a year. The group I played 99% of my rounds with during these years would regrip 2-3 times a year which made their total cost about triple what mine was during same timeframe. And I never need a glove.

Lamkin Crossline cord since the 90s. It’s a perfect grip for me. I don’t wear a glove so no worry tearing them. First round or two each your I chew my hands up and am good from then on. Great in the rain. Good looking. 10/10

Good day golf fellow golf nerds!

Curious to hear what everyone is doing for grips this year.  I've been an mcc +4 player for a while now and contemplating making a change, but not sure.  I'm comfortable playing them, just not crazy about how fast they tend to lose the slight tack.  When new they are amazing.  However, I'm very interested in iomics and possibly lamkin sonar tour.  Really wish they still made the players cord mid.

Is anyone else thinking of making a change?  Interested in some good dialogue.  Apologies if already  posted.  TIA!

I used the MCC+4s for quite some time and they were a grip I came back to often. The +4 always felt just a little too much though so I ended up moving away (see below)

I’m still using Tour Velvet 360’s, 2 wraps. Still the best Imo.

Nearly the same as what I use.

MCC Plus 4 mostly, but also have Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid (built up though) on a few clubs.  And GP Tour Velvet Plus 4 on my driver, Ping ID-8 on my fairway wood and NDMC on my hybrids.  Mixed bag as I'm always tinkering with grips and like certain grips on certain clubs.

I have found the occasional "certain grips on certain clubs" feeling as well, currently using a different grip on the driver.

I've been hunting for "my" grip for a few years now. Here are my findings:

MCC+4 - Kind of a good "standby" and I grip I could go back to if needed. Reliable and plenty long lasting if you clean them regularly. The +4 occasionally feels too big to me though.
Tour Velvet SuperTack - A really good grip if you want hard and tacky. Still have a few around.
Lamkin Sonar Wrap - I actually really like this grip and still use it on my driver. Feels very secure for a softer, spongeier grip.
Tour Velvet 58R - Almost made this one work but couldn't quite keep it. The feel is classic, but they always build up a little funny to me, like they stretch in weirds ways and don't feel consistent.
Tour Velvet 360 58R - This is what i'm currently stocked up on. They feel different than the regular TV, a little softer and "grittier" while also feeling a touch larger? 3 wraps bottom, 2 wraps top.

I also found a small stock of this old Golf Pride "Pride Special" putter grip that is basically a Lamkin Deep Etched Cord? Whatever they are, I bought one on a lark last year right before Tiger started using the Lamkin and I loved it, only to find out it is pretty old and rare. I have 3 extra now though.
