Adam Scott...autoflex

Recommended Posts

Also, Mike Weir used it last week and came in second place and was hitting it very long. I can only say, that I have one and EVERYTHING that you see and is said about this great shaft is 100% true. I just do not go out and purchase something. I researched it and looked at all data and took the jump. Figured if I didn't like it I could still unload it quickly. That definitely isn't happening. It can handle whatever you can throw at it. Expect 5MPH and 15-20 yards. It's no joke. This my friends is the real deal. But it must be built according to the guidelines from the manufacturer.

FYI; It was worth every nickel.

What driver head do you have it paired with?

What length and color did you go with?

My local fitter where I get lessons got some in stock and from what I can tell he's selling enough of them that I had to put mine on hold and he still needed to put one together as they don't have any more with Callaway adapters. You don't sell 800$ shafts at that velocity if the tech is not legit. I'm just worried about what the USGA/R&A is going to do.

I am Bombing my 505xx once I finally got on a launch monitor and used the TP5x balls. Playing the Sim 2 9* turned lower with a length of 46”. I switched out the 16 g for an 8 g weight in the back that I got from the tour trailer. I also change the weight in the front port. Finally decided on D3 swing weight because it produced the best numbers for me. This is the best driver I have ever hit! I can’t stress how important it is to get fit.

Just got an Autoflex 505 for my TM SIM today!  Let the testing begin.

Like a lot of you guys I saw the TXG guys videos playing around with it.  Now, Matt is a freak with the driver so I did more research and was reading testimonials of guys with similar results.  Then a buddy of mine picked one up for his G410 LST so I had to give it a shot while on a golf trip in FL.  We used his SC200 to give us a bit of data.  Took 5 swings with my driver set up (SIM 9*, Diamana Black LTD 65 shaft) against his AF 505/G410 LST set up.  Immediately picked up 4-5 mph club head speed and I wasn't really even trying.  I think carry distance was around 10-12 yards more with slightly higher launch but they were range balls so I was more interested in the club head speed gains.  One big thing I noticed is that thing was arrow straight.  I prefer to hit a draw as my stock shot shape but this thing just wanted to go dead straight on a rope.  If we had more time I could have hit that thing all day!

Can't wait to get out and start testing and tinkering with my SIM set up.

He was pretty bad SG Off the tee even with some good drives he had some really bad ones. I do think I heard he had the longest ball on 16 all week, 338. Bryson's closest were 333 and 332. Finau 336. I didn't check everyone but DJ, Rory and Champ were shorter.

I just look at the fact that the TXG guys are really the ones who poured gasoline on the fire and they won't even put it in their own bag. That should speak volumes. Also, I'm typing this random sentence in bold italics because apparently it lends more credibility to what I'm saying. Trust me!!!

You’re probably right. I think when you got speed already it’s not worth increasing dispersion to gain an extra 10 yards. For us mortals a shorter club into greens can be invaluable though.

@ProjectXyou’re missing the underline for the trifecta. 😂

I think their intent is shaft sales. They want people to come in and ask for it as they make money on each part of the club build. A heavily marked up shaft like that equals big points on the margin.

if you look at Matt’s driver he has been in the fujikura pro 2.0 TS forever.. that’s like a $200 shaft at this point.

@QuigleyDU Recently sat in on a trackman session with a fitter / fast swinger I know.  Comparing a pink auto-flex in X flex at 46.5 inches vs speeder 474 evo iv.   In S flex.  Also at 46.5 inches.   Both with same sim head.  Baseline was set with same sim head and his gamer shaft at 45 inches which is a raw tensei white in x.

he picked up an average of 4 mph ballspeed with the auto flex.  And then came the 50g speeder.  And guess what.  Near identical gain.  4.2 mph average picked up.     Took a little while for him to get dispersion dialed in with either. But once tempo was at rest , both worked.    His reason for the test was that he had folks wanting to order auto flex shafts and he wanted to know if it was worth the money or not.  Conclusion was that the idea was worth the $. But that the shaft itself didn’t do much if compared to others of equal specs.  Curious if you’ve hit it on a monitor and if so , ever built a lightweight flexible clone and tested in same head ?
