I think that's what turned me off, their site didn't show anything available lefty in their custom options so i wasn't sure what was available.

 

I'll check if my pro has an account he can ask

 

I could do a 4-GW with their new MIM black wedges all for the same price as just irons with someone else

 

money isn't really a main factor, but it's still something

Get the Mizuno SEL.  Mizzy will give you a better shaft selection than any of the other choices, probably at a better price.

My next iron set purchase will be the 921 SEL. I got the MP20 SEL (3-pw) and 919 Forged (5-pw) last 2 years. I hit the 921 SEL and its a winner.

Jeff, I think you and I come from a similar place given our love of the G series. Of the sets you list (heck, on any list), I’d put the Srixons head and shoulders above the others. One caveat: I’d stick with the zx7 series.
 

They are almost as long as the distance oriented irons on your list, but provide exceptional feel that the others can’t match. I’d also bet that their turf interaction is better than anything you’ve ever played. If you like the high bounce, wider sole of the G series, you will LOVE the v-sole on the Srixons. This feature alone will make them play as a much more forgiving iron for a low handicapper like you. 
 

In other words, they are nearly as long as a distance iron, look and feel as good as the best players irons, and play with a level of forgiveness through the turf that rival your beloved G series. 
 

But go ahead and get the 770s. Ha ha!!!!

I hit the Callaway Apex Pro 21's at PGA Superstore yesterday and last week.  For some reason, they felt terrible.  Probably the wrong shaft - but they didn't even feel like a "forged" club

You’ll be hard pressed to get these gear heads on here to talk you out of not getting new new irons. How do you Cindy the 410s a SGI? Thought I’ve read in past post the s300 was your go to shaft? Id combo the Apex/Apex Pro Callaway offers a few different combos in the new Apex line. Check them out! IF I wanted new irons, I’d go a combo route with Callaway! Just my 2 cents, FWIW! Choose wisely!!

Those P-770's look really nice. You can play'em. I always thought forgiveness was overrated (unless it's your wife doing the forgiving, lol), and when I had a set of MB's I didn't notice much difference in scoring.

 

What shaft are you looking to get?

Hey Sean! I had a couple of people give me a really good sell on the Apex Pros and i almost went with those actually. 

 

But in the end i have actually held and made a few swings with the Cobra Forged TEC since they were out in 2019. I remember loving the head shape...Frankly i'd forgotten about them due their website having some flaws on the lefty options

 

So i ordered those with Modus 130's

otherwise the 410 not are a complete pendulum swing into the SGI world. The penultimate SGI from ping would be the g710

I have a set of Sub 70 and they feel great and don't have that can or corn sound like the Pings do. (Wish they could hire a good acoustics engineer at Ping!) Also... at the risk of being eviscerated, the new 2nd Gen PXG 0211 released at under $100 / club may be the biggest upset in 2021!  Don't overlook the Direct To Consumer market!

OP asks for advice, but seems to have his mind set already on the 770‘s due to no upcharge Modus 130 shafts.

Ignores pretty much all that’s thrown at him and out of nowhere, picks a set that hasn’t been in the race at all. Orders it and says so. But people keep recommending stuff anyway, like nothing has happened. OP says thanks, I’m all set, but WRXers keep piling on and plugging their beloved irons...just amazing. 

This has to be the pinnacle of male stubbornness and ignorance and I LOVE IT!

I would say this thread was actually very helpful to me. I wanted Modus 130s, but i had forgotten about the Cobras , i think it's because a couple of months ago their site seemed to show limited lefty options in that set. So i just stopped considering them or going back to that site when i put together my list

 

So the suggestion on Cobras , plus the mention that Modus was also a free shaft upgrade , led me to reconsider them and eventually purchase them. The advantage they had was they were the only set i had ever actually held in my hand. So i was 100% confident in the head shape

 

BTW, my second choice ended up being the 2021 Apex Pros (which i had originally listed 4th)...because a couple of folks PMd me and talked about them a bit. 

 

So in the end i wouldn't say i ignored posts here. Probably the exact opposite, my top 2 choices ended up being one that wasn't even on the original list, followed by another that started in 4th

I’m absolutely not saying you’re ignorant, I just saw myself in this- some confirmation bias and looking for validation is exactly what I need when I just WANT stuff.

Oh i didn't take the wrong way or anything, i was actually thinking about it too. Like it's weird that i gave 4 choices and didn't pick any of them. I don't want to make people feel like i'm asking them stuff and not listening

 

But in the end i was like, the thread actually gave me exactly what i needed, which was some info i had forgotten about
