So I am bought a TT DG 120 7 iron which was cut down to a quarter of inch. If I add 1.25 inches will I change the flex to much ? The shaft is sold at a 39 raw length

Changes in length on the butt have very little effect on the shaft's performance.   But that's assuming the head weight goes unchanged.   If you reduce the head weight (to adjust the swing weight for the longer playing length then the shaft will play stiffer - but how much depends on many things: how much weight you remove from the head, the profile of the shaft, the swing mechanics and your sensitivity to changes in stiffness.  Most people wouldn't have to worry about it.

I don’t see any weights in the Tip of the shaft I pulled.

What head are you going to use.   What was the length of the set when that head was originally made from the factory?  Have you previously used that head in another shaft at the playing length you plan on extending the new build to?

Also, what is the target playing length?   Telling us how much you're adding to a cut shaft isn't enough to tell us what the playing length will be.   The head plays a big role in converting cut shaft length to playing length.

Most heads used in standard length factory builds are not the best option for use in over-length clubs.   When ordering longer playing lengths from the factory, a lot of times they will use lightweight heads to keep the swing weight from becoming unmanageable.

But if you are already used to playing that head at the desired playing length but just with a different shaft, the the swing weight will likely not be an issue.

It’s a JPX 921. I currently have a Kbs 120 in it at playing 1 over 2 up on the lie. Will be putting in a DG 120 and will adjust to play at 38inch.

I also play with Jumbomaxx Med grips so that another 20g over standard

As I said, if you're used to playing it at that length w/o any problem, then I wouldn't worry about swing weight.

P.S.  contrary to a common misconception, heavy grips don't really make the head weight any lighter.
