Callaway Apex TCB - U.S. Release???

Massive shortage on steel and rubber ATM. Not only from Covid but also demand, the freight issues about 3 months ago with that boat getting stuck and obviously less transport between country’s ATM.

if you want clubs quicker I suggest asking for a ship date with your preferred grip and one with any or no grip. Tour velvet 360 white for example is out of stock until end of September here in Aus for some manufacturers. Ask for the driver to be sent with no grip and was in my hand 4 days later.

Anyone else notice their TCB’s spin more than other irons?  I was playing raw Apex MB’s before these (both with x100) and I am spinning the TCB’s more. I ended up having to switch from my Tour BXS to a CSX LS, which honestly hasn’t been a bad thing the LS is fantastic off the driver.

I came from the Apex Pro '21 (w/ x100) and noticed some additional spin and lower ball flight which have both been helpful for my game.

Anyone know if tour velvet cord is one of the grips with long wait? Ordered a set Friday and may call and tell em just send em naked if they are back ordered

I had them ship mine with no grips and they were on my doorstep at week later.

Surprisingly they came with a full set of TVC's so I have a set if you're needing some. Shoot me a PM if so!

Well talked to callaway today and driver is looking good with a ship date of Thursday which is less than a week from order date but the TCB irons have a couple of lefty heads that are back ordered and look to be October right now.  Hopefully it changes. Can’t wait for these beauties. Cheers

Do you know about right hand head?

CONFESSION…

The “Raw” heads look SOOOOOOO much more sexy sitting behind the ball than the satin…kinda makes sense why all the guys on tour are playing them, definitely frame the ball much more.

Man, I am so glad I went this route as soon as they became available shifting from the Apex Pro.  These are just a classic players CB.  The Apex Pro didn't feel as good.  My iron play this year has been pretty solid.  One of the few things I can depend on this season.  After having my tennis elbow flair up on me, I decided it was finally time to move into a graphite option.  The MMT 125TX got their first outing last night and now I am even more in love with these things.

How's the launch on the MMT's compared to the Modus you had in there? (Not stalking, your siggy isn't updated yet!)

I was toying with trying those out, haven't ever played graphite in the irons but continue to hear great things about that shaft. Lower launch is what I'm looking for, can you flight those pretty well? I have the Modus LSLs in mine right now and I'd like to try to find something  even lower launch if possible.

Haha. I’ll know More after this weekend. Have a couple rounds planned. So far I’d say they seem to launch a little higher. But that’s only one 9 hole round.

I am still really enjoying the TCB's and have a Offical Tournament tomorrow (grint) so we will see how they do with some pressure on. The heater I was on since getting the TCB's to drop my cap almost 4 strokes has cooled some but still some good golf could be out there.

Unfortunately the temporary Arthritis meds have worn off and the hands are killing me but this will be a real hard Course for everyone and in my flight pars and bogies should do well, if the putter gets hot and I can roll in a birdie or two who knows maybe a good showing.

Question

why would someone take these over the 2021 MB? They are basically the same size. Forgiveness is minimal at best.

I am a good ball striker. +0.8 hcp with lots of swing speed.

why choose these over the Mb?

(played the 2018 apex Mb for 2 seasons and loved them.)

Just my opinion but as a +0.8 cap you can play anything you like and make it work, myself as a old guy without a lot of SS I really do think the TCB are more forgiving than MB's and even though my distances are down I know where they are going.

I play the MP20 mbs in 5-PW. I truly don’t find the blades hard to hit but you do get truly punished (5-10 yards) on mishits. I decided as an amateur who plays frequently and competitively a handful of times a year that i just wanted a bit more forgiveness. And yes, the TCB is more forgiving than a blade. I’ve been a mizuno titleist guy for so long but these TCBs imo are the nicest irons out there. Just look, feel, sound it fit the bill for me. Im a high swing speed very high spin player so when i tested a couple weeks ago it just didn’t work. I hit them really well but i just ballooned them. Spin with a 6 iron was around 6800. Their traditional lofts obviously didn’t help me but i still almost pulled the trigger and bent them 1-1.5 deg strong. Ended up buying the new T100. Still almost want to buy a set of these in raw just to have and game occasionally. But make no mistake, they are more forgiving (not much) than a blade.

I have a high swing speed (122mph driver) but I don’t spin it that much. I don’t rip back wedges or short irons. I do hit it high though and stop the ball with trajectory more then spin.

I find that with my swing speed my mishits are not punished a whole lot.

currently my irons are the taylormade p750 with px6.5.

irons at the top of the list are TCB , new T100, 2021 apex mb , 620 mb

Same shaft on both head you were spinning more the TCB than the new t100?
