PXG 2021 0211 HYBRID

I was going to recommend the Gen 2 0317 hybrid but it looks like they’re sold out. I have 2 and they don’t go left with the flat adjustment and the weights in the toe. They have a very soft feel but the ball gets out there. The 0211 doesn’t have the adjustable weights but would imagine it’s similar to the Gen2.

I have the forged wedges and like them. They spin a lot. If you need a special grind though you’re out of luck. They are pretty much what other OEMs would call an “S” grind. The 69 has a little extra taken off the heel.

Might I suggest looking on EBay . I think PXG has a site where they sell trade ins in great condition. If they have a Gen2 you’re looking for, I can’t recommend it enough.

It’s interesting the 0211 hybrid and fairways have more forward weight for low spin. Especially as the 0211 seems like a more GI type line.  That’s the only thing holding me back from trying it. I need launch and spin

I went from the Cobra F9 to the PXG 0211 Hybrid, both in 19*. The PXG shaft length is 0.5 inch shorter, makes it easy to control. In terms of performance, I noticed not difference...lol.... the best thing about the PXG is that you can make the club 3 degrees flat, using the shaft setting. I use all my clubs 2 degrees flat, so it's amazing how much straighter I'm hitting it just on that alone. In terms of everything else... let's be real, the F9 is just as good. The 0211 is supposed to be the more forgiving club, so it seems to be the way to go compared to the new Proto hybrids.

Good analysis. With all due respect to PXG, Cobra fairway woods and hybrids are always really strong.

I have an F9 3H and 3W - love the clubs. Ordered an 0211 25 hybrid last week, got notification it shipped today. Impressed with the buying experience (over the phone) and how quickly they built and shipped. That is in contrast to some single clubs I ordered over the last month/weeks from Cobra, Mizuno, and Srixon - radio silence on them. I ordered some 0211 irons yesterday, we'll see how quickly that turns around.

Look forward to hitting it and especially comparing to the Cobras. At this point the PXG is cheaper (compared to a new Radspeed) and is adjustable. If performance is comparable I'll be a happy camper.

Gen 1 and Gen 2 are excellent hybrids - some peeps prefer the Gen 1 and you can get them on the cheap now. Just get the right shaft and you are set.

If anyone has experience hitting all 3 current lines PXG hybrids, please chime in. I just don't really see or understand how big of a difference there really could be. I understand that adjustable weight is great and easier to dial it in to your specs. but is there really that much difference between each line?

pics in-hand. Will try to get out later and hit it. Only other hybrid in the bag at the moment is Cobra F9 19*. The PXG is a 25*.

ok, back from a quick session. Still sorting out my swing from a long layoff (elbow tendonitis) but today wasn't too bad. It is a lively club. I briefly had a G400 hybrid that was around the same loft but that was some time back - didn't really get along with it. When I struck the 0211 well this thing went plenty long and plenty high. On mis-hits it retained a decent amount of distance. I was turning over both this one and the F3 19 a bit today but that's operator error. Turf interaction felt similar to the F9.

For the current price, certainly should be in the discussion.

It was pretty neutral. I usually hit my F9 3H quite well - the only time it goes left is if I come over the top. And when I do that, it doesn't matter what club is in my hand, its going left. With regard to direction, was behaving about the same as the Cobra today, just shorter and higher.

And the second experiment. I think my iron swing is starting to behave a bit better so I may end up not using the 28 (rather a 6i or 7i depending on loft). Have a jacked left shoulder so no full swings for awhile, maybe by the weekend I can do some easy swings. Last photo is next to an 0211 8i which is 32*

I've asked around about the different PXG hybrids, and barring any news about the gen4 hybrid, the gen2 0317x can't be beat. higher launch and tighter dispersion that the 0211 or the proto hybrid, from what I hear. everyone who had the gen2 0317x said the same words. "it's a tough act to follow". the general consensus is that it was too tough.

Finally hit the 28 today. Shoulder is still wonky but oddly enough it hurts to swim but not so much to swing. Contact was kinda all over the face but it did what it should - nice ball flight and distance. Was actually launching higher than the 0211 8i, was on par with the ZX5 7i when I caught it decently. Might end up in the bag long term, need to get my swing back a bit more consistent.

Yep, tough act to follow. I absolutely love my 0317 X GEN2.  Best hybrid I have owned.

My Gen2 22* is going nowhere ever. Paired with the right shaft for your swing and it’s high low spin bombs that for me gap perfectly between either a 3/4/5wood, or driving iron and my next set iron.

Put the old school Fuji Atmos TS Black 9S in (I also love the MRC Diamana Thump 90S) in her and it’s not only been amazing but it’s probably the most consistent club in my bag to strike well other than my putter.

Gen2 as mentioned above is a legacy head design for sure in hybrid history.

I purchased a 22* a month ago and it's a keeper.  Coming from Cobra AmpCell (yah, ancient but it was good) that I had to try hard to keep from going left.  Well, the 0211 WILL NOT GO LEFT.  The flat lie angle is key and it works.  Every bit as long as the Cobra was and a little more forgiving as well.  Purchased with the MMT shaft and has a nice solid feel.  Nice mid trajectory and I think the weight up front definitely helps keep spin down.  The rails on the bottom are nice too and turf interaction is great.

Wondering if the fairway woods perform the same....

I have a 22 degree gen1 and 17 degree gen2.  They're both awesome clubs (I slightly prefer the feel of the gen1, but they're very similar).  It took me a few rounds to get used to them going straight rather than the draw I normally have with hybrids, but after that they're money.  I've found myself using the 17 degree off the tee a lot when I'm just playing for position.  I have a lot of confidence in that club.  Can't imagine that the 0211 can be any better.
