Let me get this straight.

Jordan has one good round (which include a few luck/favourable bounces), after years of playing like and 18hc. And people think he's likely to win another major before Rory?

I need some of what y'all have been drinking! 😂

When was the last time Rory won a major again? 🤔

I’m only quoting Rory but last year he couldn’t get motivated to play and was going through the motions. Doesn’t sound like someone who is gonna win a major any time soon. Not that Jordan spieth of old has returned with his play this weekend, he still has a lot to prove with consistency now going forward

When was the last time Jordan won anything? Or even had a half decent finish?

Almost 4 years ago. 3 years after Rory won his last....

At least Spieth’s issues have been mechanical. Rory is just a basket case when he plays in majors

Sounds like you've already had a few too many. I don't know many 18 'caps that make millions of dollars a year on the PGA Tour.

So, I'm guessing Jordan shot 16 or 17 under in the third round. I mean, he only had one good round, right?

I think you've taken my post rather too literally and somewhat missed the point.

Lets see how he gets on today.

Jordan has some mental issues too. His chip on the first just now was not one by a man full of confidence in his ability.

Rory

Spieth - last week I thought he was still done?

DJ - how many people would have put him here before last Nov?

Where's Brooks?  I thought he was supposed to win 10+?

Phil - do they play at Pinehurst again soon?  Remember he lost to Payne there once (with a completely different setup btw).

I hope someone does it but have no idea who it will be.  Interesting to follow the predictions over the years though...

I'll take Brooks before either Rory or Jordan.  👍

Jordan’s task is easier with the pga.  Winning at Augusta is harder.  Especially for a so so putter.

The only way Rory wins this years Masters is if he goes into the final round with a big lead. If he needs a low round on Sunday, forget it.

And this is from a Rory fan. Just going on past performance.

Spieth’s chances in this year’s PGA? Ask me again in a month or so.

Brooks or DJ over either of them. But if I had to choose I could see Jordan managing a PGA at some point. I think Rory has a mental block at Augusta at this point, and his driver seems to fall apart under the gun.

It takes a generational talent to win the grand slam. Four of the five who have completed the Grand Slam, Sarazen, Hogan, Nicklaus and Woods, were regarded as the best players of their time. And Player won 9 majors while traveling the world.

The list of those who are 1 major short of the grand slam are the likes of Hagen, Nelson, Snead, Palmer and Watson. They all have won at least 6 majors each. Then there are those who are 2 majors short, like Ballesteros, who have also won multiple majors. All these players were also regarded as the best among their peers.

This has just been a long way to say that neither McIlroy (with 4 and a mental block at the Masters now) nor Spieth (with a single win in each of the others) are in that category.

Not sure if this little statistic fits here, but when a player has gone more than 5 years between majors, they have not added to the total after that. This includes Nicklaus and Woods. That said, McIlroy has been major-less for 7 years and Spieth, who won The Open in 2017 and has the rest of this year and next. Is history is a reliable indicator? If so, it appears that McIlroy will not complete the Grand Slam. Spieth is returning to form, so his chances appear to be slightly better, but more likely to be included in one of the other lists.

If YJS can keep it together between his ears the next couple months I like his chances around the greens at Kiawah this year.
