LOL, shoots 61, 10 birdies, no bogeys, but nooooooooo ........ “smoke and mirrors”.

Have to chuckle. Any other 61s today?

Take that “luck” any time, and yes some was involved.

I was kinda thinking the same thing.. he had 2 eagle puts that should have gone in.. we could have just as easily have been talking about a 59.... either way.. I enjoyed seeing him playing well again and hope he continues to get his game back...

He also made a few late bombs that probably felt very lucky at the time.

I can’t believe I am reading that a guy who shot 61 on the weekend in a tour event was fluky and the TV guy calling it a great round is an idiot.

I think today's round was WAY OVER RATED with all this Jordan's back talk from that idiot Azinger. Although he wasn't as wild as he was the first 2 rounds he still wasn't that consistent. He had a long chip in as well as multiple long putts go in. He may prove me wrong tomorrow but todays round was smoke and mirrors.

Short and crooked is detrimental especially at the PGA Tour level and and can only keep one relevant for so long ie.  Luke Donald.  Jordan has always been in that category.  It's worst now then when he first came out on tour and was on fire.  Fortunately, he won as many times as he did mainly due to his excellent putting.  Nowadays, while he's still a good putter, he's regressed a bit in that department.

Distance and straight issue isn’t that much more of an issue than just a couple or even five years ago - when he won 3 majors, Tour Championship, etc. He has skills.

This is all about confidence for JS.  He may not pull it off today but he's getting a win this year.  A lot of guys go through this... hot streak, then go away then come back.  He seemed to have had a lot going on the last year or two and my be able to focus again.  He did get a few lucky breaks yesterday but this happens for all these guys when they win.  This will only propel him to better things this season, win today or not, he's gotta be happy with his play.

Would love to see Spieth win. Such a decent guy. He’s like the anti-Reed.

I agree, he seems like a decent, thoughtful dude who has kept a good attitude while his game has tanked.  I wouldn't mind seeing him get back in the winner's circle but don't really see it happening today

I'm hoping for an 80.  The fact that anyone is comparing this to Tiger's comeback win @ the PGA Championship is comical.  Why is Jordan Spieth winning good for the game?  Are we that desperate for a few season winless streak being snapped?  I'd rather see Scheffler win or Xander or even Koepka.

Goodness. I'm watching golf channel and they can't stop gushing about Jordan. It's the comeback....

Ridiculous.  He played a good round and make a few bombs and chip ins. And he's still tied with X.

I remember a number of years ago McIlroy missed like three cuts in a row and they were saying his career was over.

While a JS fan, I think he shot his load today and very doubtful he can keep that mo going. Especially since he's not known as of late for getting it done on the weekend and he surely has to be nervous about possibly winning after so long of a bad slump(?).

What's the conscious ?.......................

It's tough to follow up a round like he had yesterday. That being said, I would love to see the kid get it done. He's been in a bad place for so long, he's due.

Tigers comeback win at the PGA? If you are talking about 2018 he came second and his final round reminded a lot of Jordans 61 yesterday 🙂

I would think the most important thing for Jordan is the play well, win or lose. He'll be fine with the outcome. Xander could play better or somebody else shot a crazy low number and come from behind.

I agree. Yesterday was a little reminder of what an amazing player Jordan is. When he is on you can FEEL something great is going to happen. But I will say this; Xander Schauffele is a monster talent and I believe one day something will click and he could peel off 10 majors in 10 years. He is that good. What an intriguing final group today!

I have never understood the YJS fandom from a few years back. With that said, I’d be happy if he wins because it would be good for the game.

Unfortunately I’m a massive Xander fan. I love the guy’s swing, game, and demeanor. If Xander doesn’t make it happen, I hope it’s YJS.

I think Xander takes it today with a 63-64. Spieth just needs to play solid today while in contention and keep up his play from the first 3 days and not give it away. He doesn’t need to win to turn the corner on his struggles but he does need to play solid today regardless if he wins or not.
