Srixon Irons wait time.

Is your build over standard length? Does Srixon do B series heads?

If B means lighter, this from Srixon in an email to me a few days ago on clubs +1/2 and more: 

The 3 and 4 iron heads are 7.5 grams lighter, 5/6 are 7g, 7 is 6.5g, 8 is 5.5g, 9 is 6g, PW is 6.5g, and AW is 6g lighter. So on average it's about 3 swingweight points to match up with the added length.

Yes, correct, lighter. I used "B" because that what Mizuno calls their lighter heads for builds that are over standard length. I know some OEMs have that, some do not.

I ended up going zx5 4-6 zx7 7-pw but I couldn’t believe how easy the zx5 were to hit. Second guessing not going full set. We’ll see how it works out

I feel you on that.  It's one thing if they mail a full set of irons while a driver or wedges are on back order.  But getting an iron set with 2 irons missing is worse than not getting it all.   It would feel odd playing a mixed set of irons and would take the excitement out of a new set.

My purchase went in Monday morning. Zx5 4-6 , zx7 7-PW with nippon modus 105 stiff shafts. All standard length and lie. My dealer said “should be two weeks.” I’ve been thinking that meant they’d be here in two weeks, but perhaps he meant they ship out in two weeks? 
 

Either way it sounds like this time frame is less than what most ppl are experiencing, so I’m not holding my breath...

One thing is clear.  The communication and organization of Srixon is horrendous.  I am fine with them being backordered or out of stock or whatever.  But this thread is just wild.  Some getting things before others that ordered earlier, some being told one thing.  Some not even aware theirs shipped.  Some receiving iron sets short random irons.  This is crazy.

Not sure how it could be that quick.  Site says out of stock.  I ordered almost 4 weeks ago with faint hope everything ships this week(lol)

Yeah, I'm going to keep playing my z585s until the full set arrives. I can't play without a 7 and 8 iron and the shafts are different between my old and new set.

I have had one of the worst work days in 39 years and I am glad I did not receive your order...it might have caused me a 96 hour hold in the psych unit :-).  That is a pretty crazy way to handle things...or maybe Srixon is securing the orders this way?  If you have at least a few of them, it would certainly complicate cancellation of the order!

I sent an email a couple of days ago to get a status update on my order.  We are wanting to make some vacation plans for the first time since COVID (work in healthcare).  I would rather tote the new irons if possible.

I wonder if the backorder is for right handed sets. I placed an order through fairway jockey and they haven't sent me the dreaded backorder email yet. Hopefully they just so happened to have a left handed set lying around haha 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Yep, delays suck for sure. I think all the major manufacturers are in this same situation though. TaylorMade, Callaway, and Mizuno (the 3 other clubs I considered) for sure.

I don't think it's just delays that are the issue here.  I think most people here would be fine if they communicated properly what is and isn't actually in stock and gave correct lead times.  The site still says 4-6 days to ship custom clubs

I gotcha. I ordered through a local golf store. All my communication was with my sales guy who communicated with their store's sales rep with Srixon. The sales guy said it was going to definitely be more than a month  to get custom irons from anyone and my best chance to get them in before the end of February (leaving town 2/28 for a buddies trip) was Srixon. Coincidentally I liked the ZX5/ZX7s the best too. 

So far I gotta say they are NICE.

That language may be on there somewhere but they make it pretty clear in big red letters:

I got mine and am fortunate. Bottom line Srixon did not anticipate the demand for these products   Combine that with the fact that it is taking a long time to import the components and more people are playing golf and we have a back order situation. It’s unfortunate but they are not the only ones.  I know they are working hard because I received and email from one of their CS reps on Sunday who said she was behind and working to catch up on customer inquiries

They should have anticipated the demand. That's terrible planning on their part. High demand for clubs is not a new market feature anymore. This even worse for Srixon because the ZX series was a staggered release across multiple markets. And, the US release was the last one.

All the brands seem to be the same. They just don’t know when they will get components released from the ports. I have two TM wedges order in January. Was first told ten days....now when my pro checks on the order the release dates bounce around like ping pong balls. Currently March 22 completion date but it could change. And it’s been totally different than what the TM website says for the same wedges. In fact my order shows as shipping later than if I ordered today.

You were suggesting their site is currently telling people they'll ship custom in 4-6 days - it's obvious that currently they are out of stock and that won't happen.
