Anyone have trouble separating G425 heads from shafts?

I bought the G425 Max driver and 3 wood and 425 3 hybrid.  After reading the instructions I realized I could adjust the heads flat.  I didn't have any trouble removing the head from the shaft with the hybrid, but the driver and 3 wood heads were both stuck.  I had to pull as hard as I could and both had a little rubber ring that flew off.

The hybrid didn't have the ring.  Should I put these back in the driver and 3 wood?

That o ring should be what holds the screw in place when you remove the shaft and yes you should put it back in.

ping heads are notorious for sticking when they are new. Next time it happens hold it by the head and tap the shaft on the ground at a little bit of an angle.  It will make it come loose.

Just bought a 425 5 wood, can confirm having the exact same issue.  To the point where i was worried i was going to break something when i was taking the shaft off.  Never seen an adjustable head that was this difficult to remove.

This has been an issue going back to at least the G30 or G line--can't recall exactly.  It actually used to be worse, where you  could not get the shaft out without really knocking the head or shaft on the ground.  Not sure why this is still an issue with Ping, but it is.  I was testing out the G425 driver the other day, and found the adapter stubborn when swapping shafts.  It's manageable once you know how to deal with it, and obviously, once you are dialed in, you likely won't be changing settings or shafts all that often anyway.

I know with the 410 plus after you back the screw out all the way you have to lightly drop the grip end off the ground, then you can remove the head.

Yup, you don't need to apply any wax, paste etc... just tap the grip end on the ground and it'll dislodge.  I did demo days for Ping... it was second nature.

Is there anyone that have tried graphite paste that is used commonly in the bike industry to see if that will help this annoying issue.

Another potential saver is to grind some candle on the hosel tip….

F…ing annoying is what it is

I have had this issue with my G410...  It appeared that there was some oxidation occurring between the head and adapter.  I put a little bit of anti-seize on the adapter then removed excess with a paper towel...  I have not had any sticking issues since.  Just be careful with the anti-seize...  it will get everywhere!!!

Agreed, at my store it happens on occasion. For my own Ping woods and hybrid, I turtle wax the top of the heads and then I apply a bit on the adapter tip. I've never had a head stick on the tip.

Hahaha… we’ll I’m doing it more at an angle while holding the head.  The arrcos never gets damaged.  Doing it at an angle, not slamming the crap out of it, there is plenty of rubber on the side of the grip cap.

I can’t get the driver head or 3w head off.. my ping g410 are now at a fixed configuration ! Ridiculous . I have tried everything.

Unscrew the head obviously and gentle tap the heel on the ground like carpet or turf or grass or whatever. Takes like 2 or 3 taps and you'll feel it come loose.

Did you try dropping it grip down on a hard surface like described at the beginning?

This is what Ping advised me to do back when it happened with a G30 driver.
