I hope nobody from the California State Board of Equalization reads this.  They probably just haven't thought of taxing FedEx Cup points yet, but I'd bet they would argue that points earned in California are California taxable income to the eventual FedEx Cup payout recipients.

They will.   Don't worry.

This is the guy we watched at the US AM a couple years ago.. runner-up..? I forget. Believe he turned pro and is skipping the greatest years of his life.

Long, lanky.. reminds me of 1996 Tiger. Swing - like Steve Flesch.

It might be cool if he won because the golf commentators might start calling him Young Akshay Bhatia.

Not as catchy as Young Jordan Speith though.

Seriously. Spyglass is the straight up most difficult course I've ever played. EVERY approach is challenging and the greens are monsters.

But damn, I love playing it.

Agreed, one of my favorite courses in the country, stunning and a great test of golf.

I always thought the greens over on Bayonet were tougher than Spyglass, some were just brutal.  I think it was #8, looked damn near flat but would break 7-8’ on a 15’ putt.  Haven’t played it since the reconfig so unaware of what they play like now.

Spieth’s round today at Spyglass is impressive!

Couldn’t say, all they’re showing is Mickelson drudge around Pebble, total BS coverage.

Haven't played Spyglass so can't compare but have played Bayonet several times and there are some very challenging greens there where 3 putt is definitely in play if you don't place your ball in the right spot.  #12 to me comes to mind as one of them.  #3 tough as well.  Great course.

As a Brit, I can say that I do. I have absolutely no interest in watching “celebs” in need of exposure thrashing around a golf course. The only benefit of these am tournaments is that they let you see courses that you might not otherwise seen on TV.

I totally understand.  Here we have a good tournament, played on some of the finest courses in the world and they have to make it about celebrities.  I don't mind an occasional shot of them, I don't mind them playing Thrusday and Friday, I wouldn't even mind a few on the weekend, but the constant attention to them is annoying.  Maybe if they kept it to 5% of the coverage.

Was that really the coverage Golf Channel had going?! The Mickelson group..? I don’t know what I’m watching anymore — I bounce back and forth between YouTubeTV Golf Channel and the NBCSports app w/ Gold coverage (Roku Ultra here). I’ve cut the cord.

They must be trying to hide the hideously weak field. It’s really awful. All the shots I saw of Spyglass were from tv cameras in terrible locations. I love to play/see #3 and #4, but the only angle I saw was from behind the 4th green. Just awful, my favored hole in the course. I’ll never understand the cameras that the truck producers choose to go to.... they’ll show a great camera shot of a player in pre/shot routine with the entire landscape of the hole in one view, and then when he’s ready to hit..... back to a close up from behind on any shot, and from the side (can’t even see the hole) on any putt.

Spieth has been in great forms since the WMO. His swing is where he wanted and his putter is on fire.
I hope he can pull thru mentally to bring it home this weekend.

Very happy.  Seriously like WTH?  Did it just take YJS having a few sessions with Butch to get him back on track?   Why did he stick with that other guy for 3 years (?)?

The other guy probably needs to see if he can find a job in the bag room.  Shades of Sean Foley?
