I find Tiger's stats and effect on the game to be greater.

Tom Brady has won 77% of all his games, in a sport where you have 50% chance to win before taking into account the players' abilities.

His teammates' abilities definitely helped him reach that number.

As of his 82nd win, Tiger had won 22.8% of all his PGA Tour starts, in a sport where you are about 0.8% to win. No one helped him reach that number.

At the peak of his career, other players were playing on average 1 shot worse on the tournaments he was participating in, just because he was screwing with everyone's mental game just by being there. I doubt TB has had such an effect on other players, although obviously there's no way to calculate that.

Tiger increased the popularity of golf like no other athlete has done for their sport.

Yes, if you look at TWs performance relative to his best competition, it would be like

if Brady was out there throwing 70 yard ropes to guys, completing 85% of his passes, and running like Mahomes.

Brady played extremely well relative to his peers. But I’m not sure how often he was even the top ranked QB? Maybe somebody knows.

Tiger, let’s face it, to go out there and win 4 majors in a row, win 50% of the majors over 3 years.

This is like a guy hitting 80 Home runs three years in a row in baseball or like rushing for 3000 yards in football.

I gotta go with Babe Ruth on that one.

Gotta throw MJ in there

Consider how Jordan affected NBC's Nielsen ratings:

-- During the last regular season, the eight Bulls telecasts -- the maximum the network was allowed to carry -- averaged a 6.5 rating, 71 percent better than the 17 other broadcasts.

-- The Bulls' 1998 playoff games -- minus the finals -- averaged a 10.9 rating, 102 percent above telecasts without Chicago.

-- The 1998 finals produced an NBA-record 18.7 rating, the best of the Bulls' six titles. Game 6 last June, Jordan's finale, produced a whopping 22.3 rating.

Maybe Tiger needs to engage in witchcraft for his back like Brady's wife.   They call it white witchcraft with an altar his wife builds pregame.    Sounds pretty F'ed up to me.   Starting to be not a fan.  I know his wife is from very remote area in Brazil where lots of Germans moved to.  My guess is Santeria is pretty common in Brazil.   A little to creepy for me there Tom.  I wish Eli was still playing for a good team.

Tiger is in complete control of his performance minus the draw which can be equated to a schedule. I think the argument that Rodgers is the most talented QB; I've seen so far minus Mahomes. Talent doesn't necessarily reflect in numbers, championships and records in team sports. I've been singing Brady's praises since 2001 so definitely not diminishing the accomplishments;  just think that talent typically reflects more accurately in individual sports.

We're in agreement on that.  Individual sport athletes are entirely responsible for their successes and failures, more so than team sport athletes.

Da Fawk !?

Brady was running wind sprints and working out in the parking lot before the "Match x".. when Barkley asked what he was doing, TB12, replied with: "I'm trying to win a superbowl..."

I am going to guess that work-ethic and determination is a more likely contributor to his success.......

The guy does have an amazing work ethic and he is smart.  The wife's altar and "white" magic santeria pre game stuff is a little too weird.   Maybe she put the evil eye on Mahomes and the KC defense.   KC were getting penalized almost every play like idiots.

Yeah but what do I know.  He is probably worth $250 million and she may be worth $350 to 400 million.

Ya, Brady treats it like a profession.

Still practices the most basic fundamentals all the time.

I would have to go with TW on the sheer dominance part.  At his peak, he was doing things on the course no one else could do.  Having said that, and someone may have mentioned it, Brady has that “leader of men” thing going on that can’t be easily measured as to how important it was in all his SB wins. That’s one of the things that makes it so difficult to compare team sports dominance vs golf dominance.

Ahhh, the old Rugby vs Football debate

Here is a comparison of hits.

There is no comparison 😂

That said, rugby emphasizes correct tackling form and is much safer

Brady has what, seven?

Yogi Berra - ten World Series Championships as a player (played in 14)

Henri Richard - 11 Stanley Cup Championships as a player

Hard to talk about the old school NHL guys with a load of Stanley Cups

there were 6 teams, 4 were good

I actually played golf with Yvan Cournoyer .. he is a golf junkie.  Does Corporate outings and speaks afterwards, and he is incredibly entertaining.  I think he has 10 rings!!!!   He was a small guy but the leg’s on him even in his 70’s were simply unbelievable.  He thought it was a riot that I had still had his autograph from meeting him at Maple Leaf Gardens when I was 10 or so.

Semi-related story.  Ran into Guy Lafleur at a conference 5 years back and he was pretty distant until we started talking salmon fishing and that I spent 5 years of my youth on the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec.  This guy still had muscles in his shoulders and arms popping thru his sweater.

Jean-Claude Killy!

Some say lucky for him Claudine Longet lost interest in Andy Williams, which led to one of his rivals being "eliminated" from competition, which eventually led to one of the funniest skits ever on SNL, lol, the Claudine Longet Invitational!

Just found out he was also known as the "Chocolate Kitty" - disappointed the nickname was merely in reference to him slurring his words (of course he does, he's French), lol.

Yes, there were only six teams.  However, that means there only something less than 130 NHL players (at any one time).  So, much higher average talent level, even on the two teams that were not so good.

I’m old enough to remember the first expansion.   Guys that were marginal original six guys were top six forward/top four D men on new teams.  Guys who were career minor leaguers, were suddenly NHL guys.

So, still not easy to win 11 Cups.  Now, Montreal did have a bit of an advantage back in the day, but still...

The NFL is ONE entity, not 32 teams remember that. Thanks Rodger, FU Rodger ! Brady played in the Offense rules era of football ever and he won, good for him, but the rules and the NFL helped (SEE Tuck rule ) and never wonder why they love golden boy Tom Brady. He cheated, his coach cheated but he won, Brady is more like the Lance Armstrong of Football.

This was only the 3rd blowout superbowl in the last 21 years. Blowouts equal, turning off the game, bad ratings are bad for the NFL.

6 billion was bet on the super bowl, does everybody know the NFL is vested in keeping the game close ?

Tiger is amazing and his level of dominance will never be questioned.

Cheated ?   I think you meant to use the word “caught”

They are all cheating, at all highest levels of all the big sports.  Baseball ... sign stealing etc etc

Cue up Ben Johnson and Lance Armstrong

I’ve heard a local top golf guy use the old phrase “if you aren’t cheating you are cheating yourself” ... sad but true
