I'm also a big fan, especially of the Pros. In the process of ordering a combo set but still deciding on shaft.

I'm assuming you tested the stock steel shaft?

Yes, I tested with my shaft in the 2014's (TT XP95 S300) and felt just fine. They flipped in the stock Elevate 115 and I liked the added bump in weight.  Still felt very stable either way.  I really was thinking combo set going in, but the stability and forgiveness in the Pro's for me was an easy decision to bag the entire line 🙂

The TM770's was very similar, but the Pro's felt softer

Good to hear. They look so good, too.

Got my ship date of Feb 23rd for my Apex Pros with MMT 105TX.  Haven’t been this excited for new clubs in awhile!  It was a short demo for me, one look at them pretty much did me in, but hitting them was equal to looking at them.  Ordered immediately.

Were you able to demo the MMT 105 TX? If so, how stiff did you find it? What’s your 7 iron swing speed?

I played Apex Pro 19 5-AW last year and they were great except I get inconsistent with the long irons just like every long iron. I went with the mixed combo set this year which is 5-7 Apex and 8-AW Pro. I added a DCB 4 iron to round out the set. I am not crazy about how different the clubs look in the combo set but I only use them one at a time haha.

I had that in mind going in for the fitting to combo 4-7 and wished there was a full set to test.   That said, the Pro 7i had such a nice feel that I'm hoping the 4-6 are the same 😉

I would rather have the Pro 7 iron but Callaway made the combo mixed set with custom loft and lies that splits at the 8. I would not feel confident in a combo set that was bent to spec. I know any good clubmaker could do it but I like the fact that it was specially built for this particular setup.

Agree, I'd want the 7i in the Pro split 🙂

Were you lucky enough to hit anything beside the 6/7 iron fitting head?  Just wondering how much of a difference there is between the cup face irons (3-7) and non-cupface irons (8-A).

Local store only had the 7i in Apex, Apex DCB and Apex Pros.  I wish they had more in the line 😞

Maybe a 4-5i in the APEX, and the rest of the set in the Pro's? I personally want just "point and shoot" and "high and straight" on that top end of my set. Were the APEX offset similar to the 2014's throughout the set? Any issues with hot spots or flyers with the Pro's?

I have the Apex 2019 combo set, love the forgiveness especially on the +160y end of the bag, plus the precision on the low end.

I'm really interested in bagging the Apex Pro 4i.  I've been using a UT 4i for the past season and thinking hard  about going back to a "normal" iron but with a little more forgiveness.

I would have loved to have the 4 & 5i to test in both sets, but only the test 7i's.  With only a 7i in Pro line, I just needed to be comfortable that it was forgiving enough with the hope the 4-5 was the same.  Agree, on top end set philosophy too 😉 .  The Pro 7i was extremely consistent flights for me.  I had a few flyers in the Apex 21 testing.

The Pro 21 are really a nice looking club all around 🙂

Ordered 5-pw in the pros and added an Apex 4 iron. All shafted with Nippon 120-S.. I think I would have been ok with the pro in the4 iron, but not being able to test I went the save route. I would have ordered the spilt set, but the spilt at the 8 iron..not where I would do it.

From the TXG video they seem to start to have that "techy" sound at the 7i.  Similar to P770.  Ian seemed to be pretty smitten with them from pw-8.  Regardless of sound and feel, kind of hard to argue with results.  They seemed to get that unicorn combo between high ball speeds in mid irons with ample amounts of spin.

I’m wanting to build a new combo set of Apex

MB - PW, 9i

TCB - 8i, 7i

Pro- 7i, 6i, 5i

Undecided on the 7i. Would love to test that TCB with the Pro.

You’ll love the set but that is my biggest problem with modern fitting. 7i is good and we can make some educated guesses but long irons are my (and many others) most inconsistent part of the game and I really want those 5i comparisons.
