This thing is still stupid straight. I’ve hit my last 15 fairways with it over 2 1/2 9 hole rounds. 
 

I had a chance to play our muni from my normal tees for the first time with it today. Oddly, center face strikes didn’t produce anything special distance-wise. Solid hits were about where I would expect to be with my Ping g425 max if I hit it center. But my toe misses were barely behind the center strikes and were always in the fairway. That’s where this thing really shines and why it’s staying in my bag. See ya, Ping!

It's crazy how well an off center strike goes with it.  I had to adjust my setup a little when I got it but once that was figured out it's been fantastic!  It's an instant classic that most will never even know exists.

 

The C721 3 wood has been a great tee club for me too.

In the few times I hit it in a simulator this winter, I had to loft it up to get it to carry.  Now that I'm outside, I'm hitting it higher than I want, so I'm going to drop it to 11* from 12*, although that kind of stinks because that will drop the lie angle 1*.  I may need to find a 10.5 head to compare.  You're completely right after this being a classic that no one knows about.

I dropped it 1*, which also changed the lie angle, and proceeded to hit four awful drives in a row - low, screaming fades.  I moved it up back up to the UO position, immediately the high straight drive is back!  I guess I'll just glue it into that setting 🙃

I'm contemplating going to a shorter driver length, but I'd want to add head weight.  Tour Edge's online shop is sold out of the 15 and 18 gram head weights.  Does anyone have extra head weights they aren't using?

I'll share how I worked around the lack of head weights.  The stock weight has hollow channels on the underside, I took the weight out and cut lead plate to fill until I had 10g extra for 20g total.  There are many other ways to do this.  I happened to have lead sheet, tin snips, and a scale handy.

I think I'll be digging into the MIL's knitting supplies for some yarn.

I just added 9g of yarn (more like cotton rope you’d see on a pot roast) inside the head. The factory glue inside the head will trap it after a couple of swings so it doesn’t rattle around inside. It dampens the sound quite a bit as well which is great.

And I just switched my adapter from the HZRDUS blue RDX smoke to the HZRDUS red RDX smoke.  We'll see if it makes a difference.  The Mizuno shaft optimizer seems to think I have a quick transition, so hopefully the red is suited more to me.

Good luck with the new shaft.  I've noticed that the Black smoke and rdx blanks have gone on sale.

 

FWIW mine came with a 6.0 blue rdx and I can't hit it unless I really slow down my transition.  I bought a used Hzrdus Black 60g and it was a world of difference (better), then I bought a new Gen4 Black 70g 6.0 flex -1" length direct from TEE and it's perfect.

First go of it was very positive this evening.  My feelings exactly about the blue rdx smoke - it's listed as a good shaft for smooth transitions, which I don't have.  The red is supposedly the same as the black until you get to the softer tip, which fits my swing better.  One example for tonight was a short-ish par 5 (460 yards) that has a crown in the fairway at about 230 yards, then downhill to the green.  I've never actually been on this green in two.  Tonight I played two balls, one tee shot ended up about 195 out, the other about 180 yards.  A choked up 3 wood and a 6-hybrid later, I had two balls on the green and ended up with two tap-in birdies.  I hit 2-4 balls on almost each tee and only had 1 banana ball slice, which I've become more accustomed to with the blue.
