What ball are you most excited to try?

Recommended Posts

I have been testing Chrome soft X and absolutely love it.  Lowest spinning ball for me.  Not a big fan of this year's Pro V1x.  I may test this year's AVX to see if there are any improvements.  Currently game the MTB-X and love it but I'm always willing to mess around with equipment and balls.

Been playing for 4 decades and the TP5X is the best ball for me that I've ever played. My only wish was for a little more short game spin. According to marketing that's exactly what we are getting. If

This ^^^

Strictly feel. My SS is between 100-105, so pretty low by WRX standards LOL.

No one swayed by the performance and traits (High launch / flight, soft feel, good distance / low'ish spin - irons especially and durability) of the Tour Response after seeing it thrown into the TP5 / TP5X mix ?

I'm going for a 3-way TP5X,TP5 and Tour response pre-season 'play-off !

I tried out the TR last year and it was too soft for me.

Too soft in terms of the ball being 'out-swung' and then ballooning etc, in terms of feel, sound or ?

***What driver SS are you approx ?

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm 110mph max these days. So you'd have someone to talk yardages too if we played a WRX 4-ball 😆

Why are you not a fan of the ‘21 V1x? Just wondering because I am using the current B X and thinking about trying the V1x for a touch softer feel.

Out of all the tour balls I have tested, the ProV1x launched too high for me.  Not the best wind ball.  I played Willowick this past weekend and the Santa Ana winds were blowing 30+mph.  Ball was flying side ways.  I was struggling to keep the Chrome Soft X low enough through the wind.  I don't think the ProV1x would have fared any better on a day like that.

I’m interested in trying the left dash V1x. Looking for a ball that will drop my spin, but not like the AVX. I tried that last year and didn’t like it at all. I prefer a firm ball and I’m hoping this will be an option. I currently play V1. If anyone has any other ideas for spring dropping balls, I’d love to hear your opinions. I’m open to any brand. Just can’t afford to lose much in terms of distance

Callaway's newest version of their EC Soft. I had good success with their first iteration using it between the 2nd generation Chrome Soft and the current 2020 Chrome Soft. Good distance, trajectory and I found decent spin on approach shots and around the green. If they have improved on any of that.........With the greens I play on I actually prefer a little bit of roll out.
