Footjoy 2021?

Recommended Posts

Tour X were a solid little kick. I was a fan of them but ultimately sided with the Pro SL Carbon over the Tour X. From what I felt and saw, basically the same shoe with different traction on the ground.

Some day, I am sure that Tour X or the variant at the time the FJ makes will find a place for me but, I have my Ecco Biom Hybrid 2s that I've owned for 3 years and still are like new and my Carbon PRO SLs.

Here is what I want from FJ and I know it'll never happen. I want an updated variant to Project M. And I'd like them to be spiked and Waterproof. These were seriously underrated shoes and though they weren't as awesome as the Ecco Biom Hybrid Zeros, they were great. Feeling the ground is insanely important (hence the preference in flat soled shoes like Carbon SL and Biom Hybrid) to me.

The Footjoy M Project shoes did come in a spiked version and were waterproof.

Just got two pairs of the traditions in white and white/blue. Have only worn them around the house but loved them so much I ordered a few pairs more in case they quit making them.

Currently wearing gfore that are the same style and like them, but they aren’t as comfortable as I’d like them to be. I walk all my rounds and my feet do ache a little bit after 18. The traditions feel much better and more comfortable right out of the box and can’t wait to wear them later this week.

Has anybody seen or tried the Footjoy Traditions. Looks like an interesting shoe - lightweight, leather and waterproof - maybe a perfect spring time shoe? Good price point as well.

I bought a pair when they came out because they were exactly the style shoe I've been looking for. Traditional styling, with modern comfort. I walk a lot and them being so lightweight was a huge plus. They were even lighter than I was expecting with the foam soles. Traction is fantastic too, feel very balanced over the ball.

I bought a pair of Stratos and the area on the front, by the toe, has already worn off and is separating from the sole after four rounds of sim golf on synthetic turf. Comparatively, my Eccos show no wear in the same spot after 7 rounds.... Stratos are very comfortable, but the new cushioned outsole isn’t very durable.

Sold on the traditions. Walked 9 in them today and my feet felt great. Even after 9 holes, I sometimes feel it with my gfore wingtips. Will likely put the gfores on eBay and buy another pair of the traditions. Hoping they expand the colors and the designs. Would love a cap toe design at that same price point with the comfort.

Tried on two pairs of the Premiers today.  They had the Packard and the Tarlow.   They are beautiful shoes, but after trying them on I like the Icons better.  The Premiers are definitely lighter and look more fresh.  The masses are gonna love them.

My problem was the fit.  The side walls were a bit flimsy for me.  The Icons were so stable.  Dry Joys were too.

I have no doubt the Premiers will be hugely successful.  But I'm gonna have to burn through my Icons before I make the switch.

good to hear, I walk all my golf and was curious if the traditions would be comfortable enough and durable enough. They look great and are affordable which is nice. Disappointed FJ discontented the DryJoys. Are the traditions true to size??

Glad you like them! They truly are a great shoe. Isn’t it crazy how locked in your feet feel? They are even better on the course!

Very happy, locked in but not a tight fit, pretty much checks every box for me as a dew sweeper.

Thanks for sharing. Those look solid. Do they still feel stable with the knit material?

I have not played in them yet, but they seem to be, foot really gets locked in

Totally agree. Right now the only real options are Ecco Biom and True Linkswear for low drop, close to the ground shoes. An offering from FJ would be great.

I wear a 10m in DryJoys, and I tried on some Traditions, and 10m was a perfect fit. They felt light and comfortable. I bought a pair of the blue and white saddle for my father for his birthday. He thought they were almost too pretty to get dirty.

Interesting to hear that, I am an ICONS guy and have been since they replaced the Classics. I am not quite as disappointed as I was when the discontinued the Classics but I am certainly glad that I picked up a couple of pairs if Icon last year...which thanks to Covid, I hardly got to use.

How do footjoys fit compared to adidas or nike? I might have to get me a pair of the traditionals.

I find slightly larger than Adidas. I always seem to need half a size larger when it comes to Adidas. I have never had Nike golf shoes but my Nike running and training shoes are all the same size that I would wear in FJ.

I miss the original DNA.

I had my pair of DNA 2.0's yesterday. I get less bothered when they get muddy than my ICONS so it was a no brainer choice given how soft and soggy our courses are at the moment. Forgot how locked in my feet felt with them although I must admit, having not worn them in 4 or 5 months, my toes were feeling it a little by the time that I was done.
