Having a field to hit balls in during UK lockdown. Hitting knock down 9 irons when it's 0c and a 20 mph wind. So much fun... even when I can't feel my hands!

Back out in the field with a wedge today. Even colder and windier than yesterday, but I'm grinning from ear to ear playing around with trajectories and shapes. Who cares if my old gentleman goes numb!

Then, I proceed to slice my approach shot into the hazard. Happiness is instantly gone.

I think all three have been covered.  I miss them all:  the field to hit balls into at my previous place; being first out with my bud on Monday mornings and the 4 iron that was not only carried, but could be used effectively. 😎🏌️‍♂️

Just being on the range again and hitting balls.  Watching the balls flight each shot and then playing around with shot shapes.  Then play a few holes in my head hitting those shots at the range.

My wife started playing a year ago.  She’s getting better but if she’s not playing she’ll drive the cart and keep score.  She’s also become a massive PGA Tour fan/addict.  I’ll come home from work to Golf Channel being on basically every day, all day, as she works to lean more about the game given I got a 25+ year head start.  
 

For all the bros out there who think it’s stupid to have your lady on the course with you - or who think of golf as only something to share with the bros - you’re missing out.

This will be me once the weather warms up. She used to play and might again but she says I'm too good now and she feels dumb. So she wants to watch and make fun.

 

<edit> I don't keep score, but she will, I know. Especially if I am doing poorly. 🤣

When I'm daydreaming about golf courses being open again and actually being allowed to play golf again, I tend to imagine all the shots I like to hit with my 4 iron. I never think about wedge shots, or fairway woods or drivers, just my 4 iron. And let's not get me started on which for iron... my set one or my U85... Am I some kind of 4 iron pervert?
