Tee Marks on the Sim2

checkswing

Recommended Posts

Just got fitted for a SIM2 Max with a Ventus Blue - most I’ve ever paid for a driver in my life. Very excited to pick it up. Question: I am ordering tees and was worried about ordering white. I’ve noticed other black face drivers, the tee mark shows and is difficult to remove. Any issue with the SIM2? Thanks in advance.

If you’d like to keep the white marks off the face try a natural colored wood tee, or try these. I use them because they’re thicker and don’t break.

Do you complain about the cover of the balls in your wedge grooves as well?

I can understand wanting to keep things nice when they cost a lot, but this is one of the more silly things I've ever read on here.  You are smashing a club into a ball, it's going to get marked up.

Ya drop a grand on a club and ya don’t care what happens too it? I was asking if it’s an issue as I have a choice in which tees to buy. I prefer white but will probably go natural if there is an issue with this driver. If not, choose the white.

Yeah they actually don't, not in my experience with my SIM and white tees.

I use white plastic tees and have not noticed any tee marks on the black face of my driver.

I usually keep a bottle of Nu Finish in the garage - the stuff in the orange tube - specifically for painted tee marks.  It’s meant for car door scratches and scuffs.

Non abrasive and absolutely always works on drivers.

Exactly Fredstar. I have had the same experience with othe drivers. Full cleaning and those marks remain. Wish it was that easy.

I think it's a fair question.  I've never gave any thought to it when I played my new Speedzone. All my tees are from the lost and found. And I don't see any permanent marker on my face fwiw. For alot of us these are tools and jewels!

I have reasonable expectations of what a golf club is and wouldn't fret about tee marks on a driver face.  I'm more shocked that people actually think about this and slightly mortified if someone would actually chose a product based of it's ability to resist tee marks vs. performance.

Yeah me too, as my club has tees in all the carts and at the first tee. I thought of upping my tee game.

Lots of nice tees out there from bettinardi and other less expensive sites like western birch.  I like the white ones but the natural makes sense to not worry about cleaning

I now may get a response to that - such as to what do you care about what tee you use. Just pick up off the ground and hit it. Silly...

Gweltfgilfer, it seems as if you not grasping my point. I may not have been clear in my original post.

I’m looking to make a tee purchase based on the propensity for the driver to mark up. Not the other way around.

You’re not going to see my driver in the classifieds because of tee marking.

There’s always one.
This is why I keep a small spray bottle with a drop of dish soap. Spit doesn’t get the grass stains off the golf ball that well.

For real? I have seen many things on golf courses over the years but I have never seen someone break out a little spray bottle to clean their balls.

I too like to take care of my stuff and appreciate the tips on using non white tees.  I am heading out this morning for my first round with Sim 2 Smoke RDX Black and will need to get some plain colored tees.

A little rubbing alcohol and a washcloth takes those marks right off. I use bright pink tees because they are easy to find on the ground and I can really tell exactly where my strike was after a tee shot.
