The D grind is the most versatile I’ve played.

Vokey D grind.  More forgiving than the M (less likely to chunk and blade, more bounce is better out of bunkers)... Just as versatile.

Huge fan of the D grind here as well. Played a K before and loved the added versatility of the D.   If I were to play only one high lofted wedge it would be that one (for me). The TM Hi-toe

2nd vote here for a Vokey M. If I had to choose a single wedge grind to use on all courses in all conditions from all lies it'd be that one.

I like that idea. I see it’s 8* bounce. Callaway and TM high toes have 12 and 15 degrees bounce. Which one would be better at opening the face on tight lies?

Ping measures bounce by using effective bounce versus other manufacturers measuring by static bounce. The Eye2 is easy to play off all lies, the sole design is that versatile.

If I were to play only one high lofted wedge it would be that one (for me). The TM Hi-toe is great from tight/firm lies and really nasty places I end up sometimes.

I actually think the PM grind and eye 2 might share the best attributes of both. If you go with the PM grind, just make sure you can stand looking at the offset and rounded leading edge!

I played the 60* Hi-Toe ATV sole & it was a phenomenal club. However, I Demo’d a Vokey D-grind 60*, loved it, put in play & it’s even better.  They’re very similar - I was making better contact with the Vokey on tighter pitch shots though & also I get a bit more consistent spin

Vokey does it now too.

I pick 14 of the following:
Ping G400
Ping G410 3, 5 and 7 wood
Ping G 400 4 hybrid
Ping G 4-U
Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth 54, 58 SS

I understand what dynamic and static mean but what do they mean by effective?

You could have a wedge with a lot of measured bounce, but a narrow sole and aggressive trailing edge grind. Example Ping TS grind.  Tons of bounce on the leading edge but it will play low bounce in soft conditions.

vokey K grind has low measured bounce but a wide sole, you open it up just a tiny bit and it plays high bounce because the back edge drops down.

bounce is just one factor, the grind, camber, radius and sole width all play a roll.

Try a wedge with higher bounce and heel, toe and trailing edge relief. Something like a M or C Grind or an M grind and C grind in two of your highest lofts for versatility. A D Grind is a Titleist M Grind with higher bounce - I've played all of them - I do like the D grind with more trailing edge grind. I've played Titleist Raw and Mizuno MP T20 Raw - I like the raw wedge b/c you can have someone grind a bit more and after a few months, the extra grinding is not visible to the eye - it blends in.

Ditch the 60 and go for a 64. You will use it more than you think.

It's funny how we all perceive things differently.  I found the 64 to be very limited in it's use

Yea.. I think it really just depends on the courses everyone plays or type of tournaments people play. For example most courses in my area are shorter and I do play a lot of cash scramble tourneys so it really gets used a lot in those situations. I used it more than the 54 degree so I swapped. I could see if being useless playing longer/“tournament” courses. Wish I had some of those in my area!

From all the reviews and research I’ve done, the LW I went with was the Cleveland RTX Zipcore 58* Mid (10* of Bounce).

Still snow on the ground, so haven’t been able to test it other than hitting balls in the garage, but love the look and feel so far, and should be very versatile!

Callaway Mavrik (10.5*) / Hzrdus Black Smoke 6.0

Callaway Mavrik (15*) / Rogue White 130 M.S.I.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
