Golf trip.

Running a golf trip and looking for a spot to hit on our way back. Will be traveling across Maryland back to nj. Can also go through pa. Looking at wyncote in pa but also worthington manor musket ridge or rocky gap casino. Doesn’t matter the price we just want the best course. We’d like not to drive too far out of our way if your suggesting another course. Thanks in advance

Wyncote is an excellent course.  Open, links style so very few trees.  You might also take a look at Bulle Rock.  Consistently always highly rated.  I think its a Pete Dye course. Rocky Gap is in the far western end of Maryland and somewhat out of the way unless you're coming back from West Virginia. Its a good Jack Nicklaus design. The front nine is hilly where the back nine is somewhat flat.  Two completely different pieces of property.  Bulle Rock and Wyncote are only about a half hour apart so both are worth playing if possible.  Both have excellent dining but I don't know their status considering virus issues. If interested there's also a casino in Perryville about 5 miles from Bulle Rock. Again I'd check on its status too.

Wyncote is very good.    White Clay Creek (DE) and Bulle Rock (MD) are also 
very good, if traveling I95.

Yeah sorry we are coming back from deep creek. So everything down rt 70 is available as well as anything through pa. We played bulle rock and whiskey creek already. Just looking for a nice finishing course to end our Ryder cup trip

If coming back from Deep Creek Lake you pass right by Rocky Gap in Flintstone. Not much else until you get near Frederick (Worthington Manor, PB Dye, Musket Ridge, Whiskey Creek).  All four are good courses and are just a few minutes off rt 70 or 270. A nice course to also consider is Mountain Branch. Just off rt 95 midway between Baltimore and Harve de Grace (Bulle Rock).  I last played it about four years ago and it was a nice layout.

Yeah it seems last couple years we’ve done bulle whiskey creek and Bedford springs. It’s looking like the finalists are rocky gap worthington musket and wyncote

Musket Ridge is my favorite course around Frederick. Great undulation, fun mix of holes. Not too far off I-70. MD National is basically right next door if you wanted to try to cram in 36. You can see MD national from the highway, but can't really see Musket. Worthington is a solid choice too, but not as easy on/off access from 70 since you have to drive a little south to Urbana on 270 to get to it. Nothing wrong with Rocky Gap either, the above description is accurate. 

 

I also loved Wyncote, it's a great links style course. Used to make the drive up from college at UDel to play it frequently. In that area Broad Run and Pilgrim's Oak are worth a look. All of these are a hike from Deep Creek.

Its an hour to gap 1+ more to woman in fred 2+ more to rock or wyncote so that might influence as youll be closer to home ... you could be 1st off gap then get to worthinton or wyncote for another round before getting home

Yeah after a long weekend of drinking and playing one of these courses is our final stop. It’s our final day of a Ryder cup. Just trying to figure out the best course for this. Either musket or worthington

I havent played musket. Heard good things, but I have played worthington and loved it.

Not sure if you've already done this, since I'm about three weeks too late, but Worthington over Musket for me.  I play them both regularly, both are very good, but Worthington a cut above Musket IMO.

I would highly recommend Glen Mills, best public in Philly market.
