Help with driver slice

I hit my irons pretty straight but have a consistent slice when hitting my driver and 3 wood.  The club path on the golf sim usually shows 6-7 degrees outside in.

 

Any tips or feedback welcome.

I had to retrain myself a few seasons ago. Now I want to hit a baby draw as my natural swing. 

We get a bit lazy with our lower body and do not get enough of our hips engaged on the front side allowing more space for our arms.

Can’t quite make out the numbers on the screen but I’m guessing your actual rightward curvature is caused by impact point. Or at least it was on the ball you hit in the video. If this is the case, then all you have to do is shift the path out to the right and hit it somewhere in the center or toe side of the face and you’re good to go.

To shift the path more out to the right all you need to do is turn your hips much more in the backswing and then discard any notion that you may have about rotating through the shot. You need to turn your pelvis back at least 45 degrees in the backswing. Right now you’re maybe doing half that and then you’re humping to try to get open.  Long term you’ll want to eliminate the early extension but just to cure the slice get some impact tape and make a big turn in your backswing.

Thanks for the reply, I have been focusing on trying the shallow the club as much as possible these last few weeks and forgot about rotation. I’ll give that a try.

I agree that there is a pretty bad lack of rotation going on here that is part of the problem. You can not shallow the club without the actual space to do so, and you have not created any space on the backswing, and are in fact losing quite a lot of it on the downswing. All of that will force you to come over the top, as you are, and will lead to slices and pulls depending on your ability to square the clubface. You're also losing the small amount of tilt that you start with in the backswing, with your first move in transition looking like you're standing up and almost starting to lean away from the ball, likely in response to the fact that your lower body is moving closer to the ball at the same time (early extension). Lots of things to work on here and i'd recommend seeing a qualified professional.

I will have to try that. I did try rotating more both with shoulders and hips and the path went down to about 3 degrees outside in. 
 

All this feedback is great, I decided to sign up for lessons in a few weeks.

Good work. Your clubhead is in the exact same spot approaching impact as your takeaway. What does that tell you?

Hi, back again with a new video. I feel like I’ve got good hip and shoulder rotation now on the back swing but I’m still getting seeing -6 to -9 degree out to in club path and a slice to boot. 
 

Im trying to drop my arms as much as I can in the downswing but it doesn’t seem to be working very well.
 

Any additional recommendations or swing thoughts? I just can’t seem to get a feel for an inside out swing.

No amount of arm "drop" or shallowing is going to help you. Look at your start and your contact positions:

 

 

You start your swing by extending your arms; moving the ball to the heel of the club. Then you get to the top and your entire body shifts towards the ball, head and hips. You have zero choice but to come out to in, or else you'd completely miss the ball.

Back an extra half step and work on keeping your hip depth and not early extending.

Agreed with Braxton, your body is moving towards the ball in transition enough that you're forced to change your plane and come over the top. 



If we focus on the hands in transition:



Compared to Rory we can see that your first move is casting the club over the top with a right hand throwing move and moving towards the ball while your shoulders immediately start rotating. Rory meanwhile is maintaining that right wrist angle way further into the downswing, sinking down instead of moving towards the ball, and his shoulders hardly rotate at all. Overall his upper body is very quiet whereas your is very active. 

Why you are doing this is what you need to figure out. Something is triggering this move, whether it is the hand move itself, the body coming towards the ball, or some other trigger. This is the cause of your out to in path and your slice though and you'll need to address it to neutralize your path.
