The Stack System

Max21

Recommended Posts

Haven't seen a post about this yet (unless I missed it). Has anyone pre ordered The Stack System (https://www.thestacksystem.com) ? New speed training created by Sasho MacKenzie and Marty Jertson. Comes with one stick and an app that uses AI to customize the programs around you.  Any thoughts?

I was on the verge of buying speed sticks but this definitely looks interesting.

I’m all in with the speed thing, but I think the price point is way too high for “one stick and an app”.  If one stick appeals to you, go with max swing speed, and follow the protocol on their free website.  Then if you want to mix things up, go to the speed sticks site and follow their protocol.  Sasho is treading heavily into snake oil territory here.

They all appear to use the same principle of multiple weights. The max swing appears the cheapest since the weights are all the same, speed sticks are 3 specific weights, and this latest appears to offer finer gradations between weights. But yeah, it's the only one with an app to track performance, is that app worth $150-$250 over the other 2....good question.

The radar they recommend is 200, so they're expecting people to spend 600 for swing speed training?.... No thanks.

I'm not sure why you need an "AI" app to tell you how to swing faster. They could easily just make a % based program, like basically every other method of training for strength or speed in a variety of disciplines. Everybody trying to cash in on AI hype right now.

I was very excited about this when I heard Sasho talking about it, but once I saw the price, I couldn't justify it.  I got the max swing speed trainer for $80, which is definitely a better price point for me considering the lack of rounds I'm getting in lately.

I have it. Say what you will about the price, but i think its a high quality product and the customer service is exceptional. Sasho himself actually called me today to talk through a question I had.

Thats awesome. Glad I went for the stack system over the speed sticks.

So DLow you’ve had it about 8 weeks now? According to its website that’s the length for most levels.   How has it worked out?   Have you seen any measurable gains?

Been injured for the last 3 or 4 weeks now, so wasn't able to complete the program. Injury happened unrelated to golf, but has prevented me from doing anything swing related.

I'm looking at either this or the Rypstick, the app for this and having a program to follow has me leaning to The Stack System.

Yeah the programs along with the app is great. Tracks your progress, makes you want to beat your personal bests with every swing. Its a great combo

Does this seem pretty secure? I'm wondering where people are doing the workouts.

Also, it looks like you need some kind of radar as well?

That was the reason I ended up going wit The Stack, the app and a program that walks you through it.   Plus with Marty Jertson behind it, I figured it has to be pretty solid.

Yes, on the radar.  I have an SC200 and it would not register without hitting a ball.   So I had t spring for the baisc Swing Speed Radar from Sports Sensors for $117.  It worked fine in a quck test this morning.

On another note, I'm going to sell my SC200 and Rapsodo as I have preordered a Garmin R10.   I mean how many personal LM's does a guy need...ha

Is it manual entry on the speed? Seems like they have a voice option. I'm looking at the PRGR they recommend or a Rapsodo now. But that's a lot to shell out for speed training.

Also I don't know if Rapsodo will read speed without hitting the ball.

Get the PRGR. It will track speed without a ball. If you’re going to speed train you need a way to track speed. For the money PRGR is shockingly accurate.

I think it’s only manual.  I haven’t seen a way to do it via voice.  But I haven’t watched all the tutorial videos yet.

I would be willing to make a good deal on a Rapsodo for you.  But as mentioned above by xman it doesn’t record swings only.

If I had not ordered a Garmin R10. I would have gone PRGR as it offers other data points over swing radar.

Has anybody use this that has also used superspeed in the past? I can get the superspeed plus the PRGR radar for the same price as just the stack with no radar. Wondering if it’s worth paying more or not?
