4 wood

Looking to add a 4 wood to my bag . Not looking at 2021 model but something recent..

 

My choice stop to either a MAverick 4 wood or a F9 5-6 wood ... Anyone who got one of those care to share their input. I have cobra driver and 3 wood and i had Callaway in the past so either is a good option

I honestly think if you go back one more generation for callaway they're offerings are better.  The rogue 4 wood is great.  Also the epic flash is adjustable so add a degree to make it 16.  Sub zero version is really good.

I've still got a GBB fairway that I lofted up and use as a 4w. One of the most consistent clubs in my bag.

I have the mavrik 4 wood. I sound and feel is great. I use it as a secondary tee club 99% of the time; either for when driver would be too long or if I’m not hitting my driver well that day. I can hit it off the deck on a perfect fairway lie. 
 

If you are looking for something to hit off the deck more a 5 wood might be easier. I had an epic flash 5w before the mavrik turned to 17* which was easier off the deck but flew a bit higher off a tee. The 4 wood gaps better between my driver and hybrid. 
 

Can probably get a like new  one for a good price on CPO.

so many good callaway fairway woods if you ask me.  from many years ago and still recent.  and lucky for us almost always make a 4 wood

Mavrik 4 woods on sale at Cally Preowned right now for 140 bucks in like new condition. Can’t beat that. Awesome woods

I still play the rogue 3 wood.  for me it is great off tee and deck.

I played a Titleist 904 for years. Still one of my favorite clubs. Steel shafted and great head shape. I know it’s pretty damn old but you can get them on eBay for like $12 now.

Haven't hit the Mavrik offering but have recently been alternating between a Rogue 4w and an Epic Flash 5w lofted down to 17*...both work well for me, as well as Ping 5w lofted down to 16.5 - not as long as the Callaway's but still a solid consistent club. AND I hit a Cobra f8 5-6 a couple years ago and didn't mind it though tended to hook more than not for me.

 

I'd say you couldn't go way wrong with any of them...mostly would come down to gapping and the distance you want from it.

I think the TEE offerings CBX119 and EXS pro are better than all OEM’s personally.

I use a G400 max 5w turned down to 17° with a hzrdus red 3 wood shaft as my 4 wood. I like it.

I think Callaway pre owned still has a fairway wood sale going on and a new maverick is 140$, would be a good place to look.

Mavrik 4 wood is a great alternative.  I like mine and CPO makes it kind of a no-brainer for a 4 wood shopper

Another vote for the Mavrik 4 wood.  My primary playing partner has one, and loves it.  Had the TEE XCG 7 before that, which was also an awesome club, especially off the deck.

I previously had a 17 deg Rogue 4-wood and now a 16.5 deg TS2.  Both are great clubs.  The Titleist 917F2 is another great one at 16.5 deg.

Replaced my Cobra F9 (which I LOVED) with a G410 5 turned down to 16.5, and never looked back. For me, a perfect fit.  I don’t use it off the tee, nor did I use the Cobra off the tee.

Man, lots of love for the Mavriks.  I've never hit one, but I love love love my Steelhead XR 4+ wood.  Only knock I'd have is there's basically one shaft offering, so if the made-for Tensei doesn't fit you, there'd be an extra cost for the right shaft.

I have the Rogue 3 wood.

im thinking about getting the TS2 4 wood as Titleist is the only oem to make them in lefty.

Do you like the distance with the TS2 compared to the Rogue?

Another vote for the Callaway Mavrik. I have the 4-wood in both the regular and sub-zero models. Money off the tee box as well as off the deck.

I knew I loved my Mavrik as well (albeit a SZ 5 wood) but my goodness glad to know I’m not the only one!!  Didn’t think it was possible but think I’m fond of it even more after reading all these posts. Another vote for Mavrik!!
