PGA tour for cable cutters?

Not sure if this is the right forum so if not please move!  I’ve been giving thought to cancelling cable, I subscribe to all the major streaming services.  The only thing holding me back is live sports, mainly golf.  Looking back over the last year I didn’t watch any baseball or basketball.  I watched some football and watched a lot of golf on the networks.

I don’t go the golf channel and don’t pay extra for ESPN thru my cable provider.  I did a google search and PGATour live comes up quite a hit.  Are there any streaming services that give you access to the actual broadcast?

Thanks!

A 9ers fan that doesn’t love the Giants?!  Rare breed around these parts. Live local sports is what keeps me from “cutting the cord”.

That has me considering going back to cable. YTTV dropped the Fox Sports channels, so I am missing the Carolina Hurricanes games. Hockey without fans is just not the same, so I don’t miss it that much, but I might have to go back to cable next year. Also, the navigation between channels, and channel guide are a bit better with cable. Kind of minor complaints considering YTTV is close to half the cost of cable.

Off air is free...  Antenna costs about $20..  Amazon Prime has a little coverage on weekends.

This.  If you live in the city, an antenna will pick up quite a few local channels, and the big networks (CBS, NBC, ABC) usually have the Tour coverage for the weekend rounds.  No need to stream anything.  You can watch pretty much every NFL game with an antenna, too.

We cut the cord and I depend on antenna for live sports ... except due to circumstances, I can't get our local ABC. Not bad for golf, though.

That’s the thing, I don’t watch much but when I want to it doesn’t seem like there are many options.

I was hopeful about ESPN+ but it’s mostly MMA from what I’ve seen.

Yup not a giants fan or a Pats fan which is most of the population here LOL

I've got ESPN+ ... some decent obscure college sports, lots of Premier soccer, and NHL game a day ... but always seems a let down.

YouTube tv is like 65 a month now.

Thats pretty much cable, no?

Nobody really leaves cable. This girl I know say she got no cable but pay like more money for all these streaming services.

Stick with cable! Is great, you got all sports, pawn shop show, people living in Alaska, Emiril fried chicken commercial. Plus Harry Potter,Bourne Identity, and Hunger Games on like 24/7.

You think you can beat the cable company?

Did not know YouTube TV is that expensive. A powerful antenna is definitely more cost efficient than YouTube TV.

I've been thinking of cord cutting for past several years but just can't justify it to save not much money. I pay $170 a month for Xfinity with high speed internet. They throw in free Showtime or HBO, I'm not even sure. I can watch all the golf channel I want. And big ten network. How much are you really saving when you purchase internet and streaming services a la cart? $20 - $40 bucks a month? Just seems to complicated and plus I don't want to re-learn the channel numbers!

The only way it makes sense is if you aren’t a big TV watcher and you can split some of the steaming with friends or family.

YTTV is just cable with one less cord

I live in an area with pretty good OTA reception.

I have an Amazon Recast over the air DVR.

Works great for network coverage. I record Saturday and Sunday and watch whenever, commercial skipping through the week.

With the DVR, Netflix, Prime, Pluto, IMDB and various Internet sources, I now have 400 or so "channels" and miss don't miss cable in the least.

I also have a Voip landline Ooma phone.

My bill dropped from $255 to $80 and I have more options than ever I ever could have imagined as a 3 network kid back in the day.

You can stream most events on Amazon Prime Video, for free, if you're a member.   You can also find free sports streaming sites online if you really don't want to pay for anything.

I cut the cord over 7 years ago, but I didn't watch a lot of live sports.

Comcast here is well over 150 per month.  I am paying 11 for Amazon and I get free shipping on all purchases also..

You can?! How?

We watch a ton of Prime, they got all these cool foreign produced thrillers. Check out “Beat”, it’s dope! Definitely rated R ; )

But what sports you get free?

I definitely agree that an antenna and Prime is cool if you just want basic channels and a lot of good content. You pay for internet of course. I think we figured we could save like 70 bucks a month with YouTube (plus HBO) vs cable. Not peanuts and definitely may look into it harder to compare.

There's usually a section that shows live sports events.  I saw that Genesis was available over the weekend.  I'd try to take a screen grab, but our Prime membership is through my wife and I only have access through our Smart TV interface.

I know you can watch certain NFL games, like Thursday night football, plus other live sporting events.  Right now, I'm seeing rounds 3 and 4 of the "World Golf Championships at The Concession" are airing live on the 27th and 28th (Saturday and Sunday) on Prime.

I usually watch OTA. I quit cable a few years ago. I have Amazon Prime for normal purchases and I have Netflix, so that's what I can watch other than OTA broadcasts. There are several sports streaming sites where, as long as you have an adblocker, you're golden.

TM 2016 M2, Graphite Design Tour AD DI

Callaway Rogue 3w, 15º, Fujikura Motore Speeder

Yonex EZone XPG 3h, 18.25º, Fujikura Motore Speeder

Srixon U65 4di, 23º, Aerotech Steelfibre i95

Mizuno MP-59, 5i-PW, Nippon NS PRO 950GH WF

Cleveland RTX Zipcore, 50º,54º,58º, Nippon NS PRO 950GH WF

Ping B60 Scottsdale TR, Nippon NS PRO Putter

Volvik S4

But $20-$40/ month is a new driver/fairway/hybrid/putter every year...
