Through 9 holes last night, it seemed inevitable that Morikawa was going to win. After a long day, I decided that I didn’t need to stay up and watch it. As I type this as well, I realise just how impressive that is for Morikawa. I know, Major winner, etc, etc but for it to seem so apparent that he was going to win and for him to go ahead and do that, is a great sign for someone so young.

Great to see Morikawa convert a 54 hole lead into an outstanding win.

 

Morikawa's iron play is like a laser beam and with his new found putting confidence, he was always going to be difficult to beat.

Well yeah there too---- I used to live in Gaffney and Blade lives in the Upstate too=== Yep you gotta be in the upstate if you know about Chesnee--- Used to work some fire calls with them when I was in Grassy Pond. One of my old buds was both Police Chief and Fire Chief in Chesnee for a little while can not remember his name for the life of me. I know he quit that gig and joined the SHP.

You know I mentioned that to my wife and would love to see a US Open there too----- OHH think of the whining and crying if the USGA tricked out that place. I would love to play there and would not care if I shot 100 from the senior tees

Morikawa’s really fun to watch. Very crafty and looks like he’s got a ton of tricks up his sleeve.

It was interesting to see how many shots around the green he used his 5-Wood for on Sunday...not something I’ve seen much of on Tour.

It would be a great course for match play, yes, but I think it would be near impossible to handle the infrastructure and the number of fans required to put on the event.  There isn't much area to put grandstands, etc., and yo would end up taking away some of the assets of the course putting them in.  

 

Not to mention, September is smack dab in the middle of hurricane season.  I know it was held in WPB in the past, but would they risk it today with what it has become?  Too big a moneymaker to risk a hurricane I would think.

Lol, not from the beautiful Upstate area but Chesnee is on the way to Augusta from Boone. Have friends in Augusta and made the trip several times. Might even stop and play the “Country Club” sometime.

You talking about Peach Valley on 221 ? I thought they closed that up. Or are you talking Cherokee National in Gaffney?

Hell Yeah!!! and get the 1 iron out to hit those chest high curler rollers with. LOL For me these days it is more like ankle high cut rollers
