Anyone use one for an armlock and care to provide thoughts?

Seems like the forward lean would be perfect for armlock

Are you talking about the face-on putter? I have his F-22. The forward lean is perfect for an arm lock style. I have messed around with it multiple times. The big problem is that the lie angle, when used as an arm lock, is massively “toe high”.

very solid and you could easily get by using it with the putting style even with the lie issue.

I putt face on with an F22; it's a GREAT putter.

As to using it for armlock, I think the key factor would be the loft. Side saddle putters only have a degree or so of loft; I think armlock putters have more than conventional putter lofts. This is not an insignificant difference, IMO.

Call Bobby Grace and talk to him about it. In addition being one of the best in the business, he's the nicest guy you'll ever talk to, and will build you pretty much anything you want built. He'll be able to answer questions like this with complete accuracy.

I purchased an F35 Let's Face It last night on eBay. I know they're intended to be used as sidesaddle or armlock

I'm excited to try it for an armlock putter. With the amount of forward shaft lean, I would like it would allow one to set up much more naturally for this style putting

The lack of loft will be a big issue. I switched to putting arm lock a couple of years ago and found having 5 -7 degrees loft is critical to getting a good roll. I also have a side saddle LFI with the Word not allowed kicker shaft. I test rolled a few using my LFI as an arm lock and the roll wasn't pretty. The effective loft is negative with the arm lock forward press.

With that being said, the putter was easy to align and the stroke felt solid. If Bobby can get the loft issue solved, you'll have a sweet set up. Let us know what you end up doing.

Got the putter today and honestly...sets up beautifully for armlock. Because of the angle of the shaft, I really don't have to lean the shaft forward at all, so I'm not taking loft off of the putter face.

I will say I do not love the feel of the insert on the F35 LFI. Very nice roll but it's a very dull feel IMO.

Lastly, I should have known this will be a problem but due to the very long alignment line...I can't aim this thing for crap. Any putter I use with a big alignment line seems to look like it's aimed SO FAR LEFT to my eyes

How do you guys like the Bobby Grace putters with the HSM inserts? I was just contemplating today buying either the F-18 mallet with the standard shaft or a** kicker shaft as an armlock.

I’ve never rolled a BG putter before, but the science behind the insert seems to make sense to me and he’s got some really nice looking blades and cool/funky mallet designs. Just a lot of money to drop on a whim without being able to test the putters out anywhere...

In all honesty... I found the HSM insert to feel a little dead. IT'S NOT. It's definitely hot and gets the ball rolling very quickly but the feel from the face didn't seem to match up to the speed at which the ball was coming off IMO

Guys, if you have questions about his putters, whether it's the inserts, the loft, the AK shaft, armlock models, whatever, just pick up the phone and call him! He'll answer the phone himself if he's in the shop, and he'll not only talk putters with you, but he'll build you pretty much anything you want that he is able to reasonably do. A nicer guy you will never talk to, IMO.
