Tiger Car Accident. ***All Content Subject to Moderation***

Also, this is my post from the PNC thread before we knew anything about the most recent back surgery.

Quote

I agree, he's definitely not all there. Most likely due to painkillers.

I think Tiger's condition is a lot worse than most people imagine. TW has never had a year as bad as 2020 while being healthy or at least having some resemblance of health. Results wise, this year for him in fact was very similar to the year he had in 2015 before needing another 2 back procedures and then ultimately fusion later on. He just didn't have any blowup rounds or chipping "yips", so the spotlight wasn't as critical as it was then. Though I firmly believe those were never the "yips" and just a result of being rendered a zombie from all the pills he was on and having no "feels" due to the spinal nerve issues he was having.

A fused back doesn't get better with the workload and the repeated swings that are required to remain a professional golfer. It's already been 3 years, I think the end sight is a lot closer than people think. He absolutely cannot afford another back surgery, and to keep pushing it is to risk going back to that place where he can't even participate in his kids' lives anymore.

I would not be surprised if he's playing in this event with Charlie because he doesn't know if he'll have this opportunity again next year because in the back of his mind, he might be thinking of calling it quits very soon. I imagine teeing up in a competitive event with his son is a bucket list item for him and he wants to check that box off while he still can. If he knew he had many more years out on the Tour, I don't believe he would be bringing out his 11 year old for the world to see this quickly.

Tiger Woods, fresh off of back surgery and a recent appearance where he was clearly on painkillers, involved in a single car accident where weather and road conditions appear to be good...

GolfWrx:  "How dare anyone speculate that he might have been driving while pilled up!"

dumbest post of all time

I don't really understand the rush to judgement , we will literally find out what happened. Let's just wait a day and we'll know everything about the crash. Why speculate? You speculate on things you aren't going to find out for certain, this we will find out for certain

I liken it to trash talking before an MMA fight which i also never understood. It's like "you guys are going to actually fight, why are you speculating about whether you could beat him up....we will literally find out if you can!"

Toxicology reports usually take weeks to process, so I doubt we're going to get to the heart of the matter any time soon.

I didn't think he looked that bad at the Nance interview.

The Goat just can't catch a break this year. Just got out of a surgery and now this?

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

And for all of the couch detectives out there saying he was on pills, u've done ur part in contributing to society this year, u can go back to ur mom's basement now.

Unfortunately...I was expecting something like this after seeing him yesterday. It's beyond obvious that he's been back on a full blown opiate binge. God damnit.

His team sucks, they need to be held accountable just as much as himself.

So how does this work? Since his car wasn't stopped by the police like last time, how would they find out if he was under the influence? Wouldn't he have been just pumped with more drugs after he's taken to the hospital?

The first thing the hospital does is take blood for tests.  Cops just need a warrant to get the results.

Was he traveling north or south? Hawhtorne in that area is pretty steep and if you nod off going south your car will accelerate quickly strictly from gravity alone.  Also wonder where he's going early up PV? Rumor was he had a house on the strand in Manhattan beach, if so, he'd know this area probably.

I still can't believe he doesn't have a driver everywhere he goes. Especially if he's on any pain pills stronger than OTC.

I suspect he was driving southbound, if he crossed the median.  There's a high school across the street from the crash site.  I live just a couple of miles from there.

He actually didn't. The screen capture going around isn't representative of the rest of the interview. He wasn't slurring his words or anything like he was a few years ago either

Not really, he could just say that he wants to relax and not deal with driving in traffic in Socal.  Nothing to admit to have a full time driver.

But I'm sure he "doesn't need that" in his eyes...

And as for comments on the "gross" nature of these posts...where there is smoke there is usually fire.  This is a person who has had similar incidents two times in the prior decade - it is not exactly like this would be unheard of for him.  You're just ignoring reality if you can't admit that.  I would love to be wrong, but the speculation is probably fair in this case.

Oh is that true? I thought we'd find out like tomorrow. I mean we'll probably know a little more soon, i guess.

Weeks, i guess some speculation makes a bit more sense.

I was just like, ehhhh, why am i going to guess , we'll know soon what it was

Details be what they may.    I just hope he can walk again for his kid's sake.   As a father my heart breaks for his kids.

I dont know what was said. I dont want to look back and see. I am pretty sure I can guess. This is terrible and sad. It sounds like he is pretty badly hurt. I am guess multiple leg fractures...

I hope that is something simple like fog and not something else.

I wasn't a fan of the old Tiger, but I like the new Tiger much better. However in either case, it's still sad to see something like this happen, regardless of the cause, and wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Someone posted earlier that the reports were he broke both of his legs... this thread is moving so fast I missed if that was verified.  Does anyone have a source on what his injuries actually are other than "multiple" surgeries?

Exactly.

Just look at it as a business expense, it keeps you  more relaxed.

Even imagine a guy like Brian Baumgartner (KEvin from the Office), could do a lot more "cameos" if he wasn't driving.

It wasn’t anything too crazy, just people speculating about Tiger being on drugs.
