Small forged iron companies I don't know about yet?

Ha, that's funny. I honestly didn't look at the series 1 (the 3 is a black 1). It's based off the P7TW and that is cool, but I liked the look of the series 2. They are supposed to be Mizuno inspired. 

 

I am not crazy skilled and might not know if they suck or not. They look good and if I don't suck more with them, then they might be a keeper.

National Custom Works, not sure if I saw it listed,  I know price point is up there but quality is pretty hard to beat.

Ballistic Golf seems to be a legitimate company. I always thought they were annoying with their instagram adds, but they seem to actually have a really good reputation, and very good price point.

Oh yeah, the CB MB combo set look great. I just asked them if there is hope for a lefty.

I started playing with blades 10 years ago.  No club fitter in his right mind would recommend them for me based on my skill, but I liked the idea and gave them a try.   Once I got adjusted I played as well as I did with game improvement irons so I stuck with them.  This hobby of trying various clubs can be addictive.  Enjoy.

They just started production yesterday with hopes to deliver in May. April should be the order opening online and likely pics by then.

 

The owner sent me a DM on facebook because I hassled them last month. They said soon and they meant it.

While I dig trying new stuff, I also tend to stick to what works. I used to not play much, a few rounds every couple years maybe. I had the same irons since '97. But last summer I decided to take my game seriously, so I refreshed the bag.

 

My Vapor Combos are awesome. The VR Pro Combos I got because they are supposed to be better. Nike is kinda hometown, the office is a mile from mine (less next month after we move). So while buying Nike might not seem like I am supporting local, I kinda am.

 

But BGD is only about 6 hours away and they are very Pacific Northwest. So I look forward to supporting their effort, too. Besides, Nike doesn't make hardware anymore, so I need a new supplier.

 

If I can get new sets for about $500, I could see getting a couple different sets. I might not ever drop a grand on a set of clubs, I can easily see dropping a grand on a couple. 🙂

I just accidently bought a set of used Fourteen TC888's on everyones favorite bidding site.  Always wanted a set.

Just paid, waiting for them to ship.  I hit a demo club about 5+years ago at a local big box store and loved it but they were 1300+ for a new set.  Was on the lookout randomly to find a used set but never found one.  This stupid thread had me searching again and happened to find a used set at a reasonable price 🙂

I just got my VR Pro Combos today, committed yesterday to the set of BGD's and have already spec's a set of Haywood's. I doubt I will get those this year.

 

But I have already decided I will likely sell my 5-PW Vapor Combos, keep the 3i with the VR's and see where the BGD's fall in comparison. I can easily see keeping both, but what do I game?

Well, I got a $5 coupon and I'm a sucker for coupons. Lazrus 56* silver wedge heading my way. $64 with free shipping, I'm good with that. I was torn between the black and the silver, but I like the silver.

So I ordered a 3H from Lazrus. It was $59 with the $10 off code and free shipping. That's about what I was going to pay for a Nike Vapor hybrid, but I figured what the hell. These could be sweet.

Also a note on the service of Lazrus. I mistakenly ordered a 2h (the Nike 2h I wanted was 18*) before I realized it was a 15* loft. I replied to the order confirmation that I needed a 3h (18*) I instead. I hadn't gotten a reply when I saw the shipping notices. When I looked at the notice it was for a 3h.

I also noticed they shipped both clubs in one box even though they were separate orders (by like 2 hours, but still).

 

While not a big deal to some, explaining one club sized box vs two club sized boxes to the wife is another matter.

I was so impressed with the Lazrus 56 I ordered a 52 as well. The hybrid is meh, but it's a hybrid.

 

There are some KZG forged heads I'm trying really hard not to buy.

So because of this very thread, I am now a KZG owner. These are older NOS pieces back when they used Japanese forgings (still not sure that really matters).

 

I only hit the PW, 9, 6, 5, 4, and 3 today because I had to reglue 7 and 8. I am playing first thing tomorrow. 3-6 CB, 7-PW Blade. This is the 3 CB and 9 Blade.

Saw a used set only once of these, one of the cleanest looking CBs Ive ever seen. Very nice.
