Raw wedge users - how do you look after yours?

Just wonder what if any maintenance raw wedge users are doing - I love the raw dull patina look, but not a huge fan of fresh orange rust that gets all over everything. I realise an easy option is to use something other than raw, just wondering how others out there manage the level of rust, or do you just let it go nuts? Do you ever strip back to raw and start over?

I’ve been using raw wedges and irons for months now. I’ve never had issues with rust and all I do is give my clubs a quick wipe after each shot. I’ve played several rounds in the rain without a problem too.

 

The general suggestion for polishing them up is 0000 steel wool followed by a coat of oil, but I like to use high grit sanding blocks (the foam ones) like what you can get from an auto store.

I've had good luck with hitting my wedge with a "magic eraser" occasionly, keeps rust under control without ruining the raw look.

I let mine rust then hit em with a wire brush every once in a while. Gets rid of the bright rust. And leaves the deeper set patina. They stay relatively rust free if you wipe them down after each round.

I just let mine be. I clean the grooves but that's about it.

Scotty makes an oil can cloth, wipe em down + oil, steel wool or redo the process are all options. Just find out what works.

I just use a wet towel to clean them after the round, then a quick wipe down with a dry towel. Always make sure wedge grooves are clean just like any wedge, but nothing special. Have used raw wedges for 4-5 years now and this works just fine for me.

I keep mine generally clean after each shot but they will rust over time. I will hit them with some barkeeps friend or some naval jelly every few months and start the fun all over again

I soak mine in Coca Cola periodically. It darkens the head and evens out the patina.

Hit balls on the rage with them. That fresh  Rust comes right off

I have raw T20 wedges and to start the season I gave them a soak in distilled vinegar and quick scrub with a scotchbrite green pad.  Other than typical face wear they look brand new.
