How Long Till Bryson Gives Up on Chasing Distance?

Recommended Posts

Given that 6 months ago all golf courses were going to be obsolete and we were all going to copy Brysons power game. It seems like he's copied my, smash it all over the planet and gouge it out game.

At the minute the strategy of hitting it flat out isn't working. So how long will he stick with that strategy?

So his start to 2021 hasn’t been ideal but having changed his entire life to go down the route of hitting it further, having won the US Open last year, I would say that he is much more likely to double down on it all rather than abandon it.

I think he's gonna see it through to the Masters, if he doesn't get it together by then / at that tourney, I think it's gonna be a change.

I don't think many believed he could maintain this swing as hard as you possibly can mentality. He is a results driver person. So if he can't keep the scores low I'm sure it won't be long for him to adjust.

What was extremely impressive was his play from the US Open rough. How he was able to control distance from that cabbage was amazing.

Until he hurts himself

Bingo.  He's on PEDs and steroids especialy affect bone density and generally make you more prone to injury.  Been there myself in the past(only on hrt now from my doc/endo) and have quite a few clients who cycle.  Brooks is also in the same category and has already hurt his knee.  I personally think PEDs should be allowed in pro sports, but it comes with great risk.  I like both guys and hope they have long productive careers, but would not be surprised if they suffered some major injuries along the way.

Your link to show he is on PEDs and Steroids?

I stopped making such assumptions after the Tiger crash thread 😬 Could BAD be on PEDs? Absolutely. Could he have gained all that fat, some muscle and strength from drinking 10 protein shakes a day on top of a ridiculously high daily caloric intake? Absolutely

Be awfully hard to be on 'roids when they are tested TWICE every week!

I think he will end up analyzing tournaments ahead of time better as time goes on and know which ones will best suit that style of play and which ones don't.  Once he gets to this point, he will either adopt 2 styles of play or he will only play the ones that suit his form of bomb and gouge the best (plus majors).

In other words, he won't stop chasing distance if he thinks it gives him an advantage in a certain number of tournaments.

Absolutely. Calculated risk and could cycle off. I don’t know if the tests are random or they know when the tests are. If they know, it’s easy to not get caught. I’d never claim on here that him or anyone else was using. I agree flat out saying he’s on PEDs is ridiculous.

Bryson isn't on juice. I know what that looks like. Bryson is infatuated with swing speed, gifted to be able to add weight and strength and up until now has dedicated all his focus on that and it's cost him a lot in his game. Azinger just said on TV that he spoke with Bryson and he has decided to dial that back because he thought he was getting "diminishing returns". That's what drove the dough boy 20lb weight loss. Bryson loves speed and food. Lol, not anabolics.

I will say ahead of time. I am not saying he’s on PEDs. Someone else said that. I would never speculate here  and definitely not say outright him or anyone else was w/o proof. BUT, HGH is only detectable in a blood test for up to 3 weeks max. Some tests it’s only 48hrs. Not sure which the PGA uses. That said, if a player wanted to use it and assuming the PGA doesn’t test year round, it is possible to use it and get away with it. It’s not rocket science.

With all due respect. Implying  everyone looks the same on “juice” is an ignorant statement. Depends on what compound, how you train and diet. Plenty of ppl on “juice” that look nothing like Phil Heath.

*again, NOT saying BAD is on juice! Can you tell I feel like I’ll be implicated just for commenting on the matter?! Haha

They are random and they stay in your system longer than that.

You said earlier that they were tested twice a week, and now you're saying it's random. It would have been very easy for Bryson to cycle during the down time last year, especially with HGH. There's differences in the types of PEDs out there.
