HEY NOW.........square drivers were cool back in the day.  Then again......so were jorts and hot pants.  😬

I was today days old when I found out that jorts are no longer cool...I hope you’re happy!

As far as clubs I don’t like...Scotty Cameron. They lost me with that whole Phantom of the Opera video.

Callaway. I just don’t think their clubs are that good compared to the other major oems.

But I wouldn’t keep a club of theirs out of my bag if it worked

Golf equipment ebbs and flows. One company innovates than another improves that technology or designs something new. Taylormade used to be one of my favorite brands until they decided it was necessary to have three release cycles in a year and produce crap. Since TMAG dissolved the product has made a comeback. I've never used cobra and thats not a bash just never did. Most of Scotty's modern stuff doesn't interest me unless its a Circle T or limited release. I think his stuff is not the quality that it used to be.

I'm not really averse to any brand if it performs. The manufacturer that I don't really jive with is ping, my instructor has some ping irons with some training aids on them and when I hit it flush it merely felt okay.

Looks, I rarely have an opinion on, heck I actually kind of like the VAS. However there was one club I put down behind the ball and was just like "nope." I'm going off of memory and I remember it being a bulky club with a rounded back edge and rings around that rounded edge that was reminiscent of barbed wire. It was atrocious.

Callaway, Cobra (I really want to like Cobra just doesn’t suit my eye), Ping. Pretty much stick with Taylormade, Titleist and this season Miura is going in for the first time.

Agree with Nike. Other then the original forged blades, I always thought their stuff looked cheap. Also being a lefty, I rarely look at Mizuno or Scotty putters. If you don’t make lefty equipment it’s hard not to be turned off a bit.

Ping for me. Nothing of theirs that I've hit has had a 2/3 combination of feeling good, looking good, sounding good. In a fitting I got handed a G410 driver, even that to me was meh. Pretty much handed it back after 5 swings and said I don't care what numbers it's generating, give me a different head

Callaway for me. Their clubs just never ever work. Even in a custom fitting when handed clubs blind with grip logo turned down I still can’t hit them but it amuses my coach to try!

Another vote for PXG, simply due to the worst ads I have ever seen (and HEARD).  The ads also seem totally mismatched to their supposed high-end image.

Never liked Callaway but I am not sure why - they just seem really bland, somehow.  Terrible product names too - Epic Flash, RazR, Mavrik and so on.  Apex is their nicest line but I assume that was bought up/taken over from Hogan.

Wilson Staff and Titleist are solid brands making nice stuff though and if I ever shook my Ping obsession, I'd probably head to them.

I'll typically play anything that sits well and looks good to the eye, but Callaway drivers specifically for whatever reason have never suited my eye. Their overall shape is just something i've never liked so I never really consider them when it comes time to demo things. I like their fairway woods and irons though.

Also PXG just on principle.

KBS because the shafts are basically consumables

Callaway because they never look right. Maybe it was because the ft-iq was current when I seriously got into golf, idk, but i don't even look at their clubs each year

I used to be anti-Ping until I picked up an i25 fairway, and it was awesome.  Starting this year on G425 driver and loving it. I'm still not so sure about their irons

UST Mamiya because nothing they've ever made that I've swung has felt right.

I don't mind PXG at all.  Commercials are obnoxious? Do you not buy cars or watch movies or drink beer and soda either? I personally don't get why it's so hot to hate PXG other than that golf is often played by the high and mighty who prefer to dictate how other people need to have fun

Callaway. I know they make some good clubs and a bunch of guys on tour use them.

However to me they have just always been these oversized monstrosities that are meant for 25 handicaps. All the ridiculous graphics and colors on their clubs don’t help either. And for some reason I can’t explain I also hate their logo.

+1

Have never gotten over the look of those old clubs with 1/2" top lines. 😬

Mostly Titleist, but purely for consumer reasons.  I firmly believe they've set the market, especially in balls, and we pay $45+ for Tour quality balls from most OEMs as a result.  They've also chased a bunch of small ball manufacturers out of the market with BS lawsuits.

I feel the same way about the wedge market; many consumers see Vokey (like Pro V1) as the market leader, and the other manufacturers follow their pricing so as not to have a perceived quality gap.

I also cannot stand Cameron putters.  $400 putters ($2,000+ for "Tour Only"), $160 weight kits, etc.  My Mizuno M Craft is every bit as nice as an off-the-rack Cameron, comes with a wrench and weight kit, and still costs $100 less.

Seems accurate.  WHYYY was there not a plumber neck m craft IV???

They all do it now... Titleist has a 26 degree 7 iron in the T400 set. That’s stronger than my 5 iron.

PXG is pretty cringe. Agree that the obnoxious commercials don’t in any way align with what their market strategy seems to be. I also don’t understand them simultaneously offering some of the highest and lowest prices of any OEM. If I was a PXG person and bought a new release at full price and could buy months later for a totally “normal” OEM price, I’d be pretty pissed.

+1. Wilson and especially Cobra started doing stronger lofts back in the 90's a few years before Callaway and others went down that road. The King Cobra 1 OS had a 43° PW in 1994
