2nd round yesterday with my ZX5/7 combo set  Very impressed with all aspects of the club  Can't get over how easy the 4 iron is to hit off the deck and distance with all clubs is outstanding for me.  Very satisfied with my purchase and consider myself fortunate to have gotten them while others are waiting.  I do believe those of you waiting will be satisfied when you receive them and put them in play

Did you have to adjust lofts to get gapping where you wanted it?

Double digit handicapper as well, but I could not for the life of me hit the ZX5. I really, really, really wanted to like them but the heavy head weight totally threw me off and I could not get adjusted to them during the fitting session. Ended up getting fitted with the JPX 921 HMP instead, but a part of me is lusting over the look of the ZX5.

I’ve had my ZX5’s for a few days. I really enjoy them, but I’m running into distance/gapping issues.

Not shown below, but I’m maxing out the PW at 150, however the 9i is flying 175 and spin across the board is fairly low. I think I’ll schedule a gapping session to dial in each club individually. My guess is every iron would benefit from a 1-2* adjustment. Ultimately, I can’t live with a 25 yard gap in the short irons and don’t need to hit a 7i 200.

Has anyone else run into this? 09AF5DF1-9441-429F-A2ED-E0F8E9E0F29C.jpeg.ae00496c885da0d8e93fb31efff0a4b3.jpeg

Looks like you could benefit from some loft. That spin is LOW. Decent is low and the side spin is really high as well. I’d add 2* to make the ball flight more stable.

Also, averaging 30+yds  left of the pin with a 9i seems extremely high. Not to be that guy, but a lesson or new launch monitor may be in play here.

Just got fitted for ZX7s 4-PW yesterday and I couldn’t be happier. Tried a couple mizunos, the P770, and the T100s but the srixons were miles ahead of the others in tightening my dispersion and forgiveness. Upgrading from a set of Taylormade RocketBladez that I’ve had since I was like 13. The shaft difference is crazy. I had the stock 85 gram regular steel shafts which worked when I weighed about 120lbs. Sitting at 200lbs now I needed an upgrade, badly. With 6i my club head speed was between 95-101mph and ball speed was 135-143. Felt very very good in the Project X LS 120g 6.0. These irons are so different from what I’m used to but I was instantly comfortable standing over them and hitting em.

I was on the fence for a while but so glad I pulled the trigger as I'm a 1st time Srixon ZX5 owner and love them. I overly impressed with how easy the long irons are as I have knocked off at least 1 stroke off my score. Feel is so soft as I have tried so many other irons in the past but these check all the boxes in an iron that I have been looking for.

There are so many good brands out there to try but If you ever get the chance to demo Srixon ZX series I highly suggest it. The real test is when hitting them off the turf as the V-sole makes a difference. Distance is there and the feel and consistency is unbelievable. Are these the most forgiving irons out there, no but these have the right amount of forgiveness that may even have you thinking that these are a players distance SGI irons as they are very easy to hit. They may or may not help you to lower your scores but it definitely has put the enjoyment back in my game as my confidence level went up like no other irons have done for me.

Im a huge Srixon fan. Was really wanting to upgrade my z785s. But hated the looks of the zx 5 and 7 irons. Really messy looking backs. Couldn't look at them. Hopefully only 12 months wait until a better looking set gets released.

Very interesting perspective. Just goes to show, everyone’s tastes are different. I personally think the ZX5’s and ZX7’s are gorgeous and have never heard of anyone who doesn’t think they’re beautiful!

I had the Z 785’s also, and personally think the ZX5’s and ZX7’s are more attractive, but to each their own.

Most people love them, so I'm in the minority sure.

Its just the high toe area at the back that looks quite messy. Particularly on the zx7. It really hurts my head looking at it, when the rest of it looks tidy. I feel like I'd need to get the grinder out😅.

I tend to agree actually and think previous year 7 series look a bit better in the cavity, but the ZX5 looks much better than 585 to me.  BTW...I am still stuck on 745 which is about as clean as it gets cavity wise.

And for the Driver/Fairways...I've moved that way late in the season and liking a bunch.  Zx5 driver sound and looks are amazing compared to the Ping Turbulators that I moved from.

Been playing them for years.  Between the 7's and 5's, I've gone completely with the 5's with what use to be the stock offering NP Pros.  Love em.  This coming from a long time Mizuno MP-14, 32, 33 etc,. player.  I have no problem working them like any other players club.  Why make the game more difficult than it needs to be.

I’m playing the ZX5’s now after playing the z765s for three seasons. I’m loving them.
I initially thought I would get a blended set, but the 5s are great for me from 5 through PW.

I cancelled the order in May because they kept getting back ordered and figured I didn't want to go all summer with no irons.  I re-ordered in July and still don't have them, but I believe they are suppose to ship out this week.  Unfortunately golf season is over until the Spring and won't fully know until then.

Did you end up getting the Project X LS 6.0 shafts? How are you liking them?

Those were the shafts I was fit for also, but they were on backorder at the time, so ended up going with the N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120’s.

Loved the PX LS 6.0 in my fitting, and had PX Rifle 6.0’s in my previous set of TM P770’s, but the Modus3 Tour 120’s have grown on me and love their smoothness, feel, and control.

Anybody play the zx7 driver?  How is it?

Not playing the driver, but I think Srixon zx woods are the best looking on the market outside of tsi line.  The zx7 has a very similar look to the tsi3.  Just a fantastic look at address!  However, lots of their pros are playing the zx5.
