No, or maybe I should elaborate, he might be able to do it sometimes but the cost of failing is too big, taking your third from the tee, dont think he will try unless he is out of contention

Don't know if his driver has been working well enough for him to try, but I hope he does.  Certainly there are others who could give it a shot as well.  Guess that's one thing nice about these guys making a living off of endorsements - they can afford to get a little crazy on the golf course, and keep us entertained.

No. Air over water is cooler so 350 across the lake is a good 10% longer.

He could do it as long as there is no hurt in the wind and he is able to turn it over and launch it way up. He'd probably need to scratch 200mph ball speed to do it though.

Cooler or more humid? I’d think most know about shorter in cooler weather but surprisingly not so in humid weather...

Absolutely it does. In my time there I’ve seen and heard about people doing it, not often but enough (there’s quite a few long drive guys in the area or that would stop by) it would be unique to see in the API for sure.

Messing around in a practice round, sure. During the tournament when there is a group on the green and the group ahead is waiting to hit their second shots (if they are going for it in 2), is he going to wait 20 minutes and back up the entire field? I would hope not. The game is slow enough as it is.

If he swings out of his shoes then yes he can.  Mind you, we are are talking 200+mph ball speed which he can easily do.  You also have to factor in wind as well.  He's not going to go for it if there's a head wind.  He may consider it if it's down wind or relatively benign.

The lake could be warmer than the land in the early morning or late evening.

Wind will determine more than either temperature or humidity, unless he intends on skipping the ball 350+ yards. The temperature and humidity gradient is only close to the surface and will have practically zero effect on a ball 95+ feet in the air.

 

10%? Try a yard if there was a giant iceberg in the lake and giant fans to blow the air upward.

I would think that if this hole was later in the round, and he is behind with a chance to win, he might give it a go. I might be wrong, but aren’t there some spots around this green that are pretty tough to get up and down from?
