Can Bryson drive par 5 6th at Bay Hill?

It would be pretty spectacular if he could pull it off. It would also ruffle the feathers of a lot of folks if he had a putt for albatross. I would be disappointed if he gets more than an eagle.

According to the formula above, Bryson said it's possible, but with the caveat, only if the moon is in full retrograde and the sun has risen in the west...

I've checked the dewpoint and pollen metric for next week and they aren't looking good.

In wii Tiger Woods golf, I remember with a beyond maxed out custom player you could turn towards the green there and the little circle showing where the ball would land would be half in and half out of the water.

Real life is not a video game but the distances these guys hit now are approaching what maxed out 2010 video game golfer represented. A little tailwind and he could get it there. Holding the green might be a slightly different problem, but I don't see why it couldn't be done, and if not by Bryson now, than by some other player in the future.

JD drove the 9th at Metrowest CC not far from Bay Hill ( about 325 carry ) and they had a plaque in the ground on the tee for awhile. Not sure if he ever was able to drive the 6th at Bay Hill.

We have a course in Houston (Tour 18) that has a replica of the hole. It is around 335 to the middle of the green according to google maps distance calculator site. I've gone at it a few times and have been in the bunker, but never made it on the green. I couldn't do it anymore, but at one point I had the length.

I'd love to see him do it in competition. Maybe Friday when he is trying to make the cut, or Sunday when he is so far out of it he has no chance of winning.

And I think Jupiter has to align at least a 65* angle with Uranus and then a 45* angle with Mars. Hell ask Bryson he can tell you

He said exactly the same about Augusta National.

How'd that work out for you Bryson  ?

****He was 18 shots off the pace by close of play Sunday. Same again will do nicely.

That was the quote from Augusta. Just rehashing it to show his track record 😂

Lord knows I can't do it. I dont even play the tips regularly lol

I hope he tries to do it during a normal round this week - not just the practice rounds.

Doubt it.

Driving Distances Past 6 PGA Tour Events:

US Open - 325

Shriners - 363 (SMH)

Masters - 324

Sentry - 303

Genesis - 313

WGC Workday - 308

A considerable drop in distance the past 3 events he's played (not sure how he hit it in Saudi). My guess is that he just would like to get himself back into contention. It seems like it's been a while (for his standards) since he's been relevant on a Sunday back 9.

I think a lot of people misunderstood hat quote. Not sure why it ruffles so many feathers.

He didn’t say he would easily shot 67 or whatever. Just that his mindset said that is par for him.

Given the conditions it favored those who have excellent control of approach/wedge shots, which Bryson has struggled with (after US Open).

I thought he didn't have a driver in the bag, or didn't use one, at WGC?

Can you offer some data behind your opinion? There is no shot link data at Augusta. Using this 2020 stats since Augusta was late last year: The only player in the top 10 finishes at the Masters in the top 10 of the SG driving is Rory. DJ won and was tied for 10th in SG driving in 2020.

Would be great to see him try in a practice round... but he would be a complete idiot if he attempted it in a tournament round. Having played that track a number of times, that green is not designed for a 350 yard approach shot, and neither is the hole. I would take house (course) odds on that one all day long.

it was slower and softer, agreed?

they were hitting more club on approach than normal, agreed?

softer greens gave you bigger targets.. 9th was a good example. DJ was on the front of that green friday with the pin at the back.. normal conditions that ball rolls back 50 yards.

longer, less accurate players were favoured that week.
