As in "yeah he drove it long, but didn't make albatross, whats the big deal" "Rory hits as long" and yet Rory was putting only for birdie too.

Bryson is entertaining and will definately get more people watching golf, i think its just good for sport.

Thinking Bryson is a tool doesn’t make you a boomer but calling people boomers and “haters”  because they disagree with you is universally lame

When they show the Arnie statue at Bay Hill I always get annoyed because it has AP in a high finish on the shot. Arnie usually ended up with the shaft at shoulder blade height. Did the sculptor never see a picture of his swing finish?

Yes it’s almost like he’s hitting a left handed club. Something just looks off

Lee Westwood being absolutely shat upon by all media again I see. No mention whatsoever of him on Golf.com... hardly a shot shown on TV.

Just disgraceful.

Media definitely focuses on the guys that put the butts in the seats so to speak. I think NBC only showed Conners on 18 bcs everyone else was done! Lol. Sad but true.

He was on fire too.  Be nice to see at least  some of the golf he played..and not just the one birdie putt. Tough scene

After watching some this afternoon, it is obvious they are way over the top with the Palmer tributes.  I get it on one hand, but the reality is after the namesake's pass on, the event needs something else to maintain it's special place.  They said Spieth is playing here for the first time to honor Palmer.  Wouldn't it be better to honor someone while they are still alive?

Agree that the lionizing gets way out of hand.

Kobe Bryant may be the worst example.

During his lifetime he was recognized as an incredible player, but one who certainly had his issues. Difficult teammate, prima donna, and of course the off-court accusations.

Since he died so tragically, you only ever hear over-the-top positive accolades. No perspective on him as a complex human being. Just “great player, great teammate, great father,” etc. as if those of us who were alive during his entire career should just forget anything negative.

it's off a  bit, but those things are hard to pull off ... the statue of saban in ttown is almost horrendous ...

There’s gotta be at least one living artist who is great at it. Easy enough to hire that person. It’s not like there’s tremendous demand for bronze statues. They’ll fit you in!

Complaint is way over the top if you watched the coverage, lol, but "some" I guess --- it's Arnie's event they didn't overdo it, but they can talk about him all they want and should.  Spieth also made it pretty clear the new slot actually fits his schedule better, it didn't before.

Some perspective here from his oldest daughter. Sounds like they had a troubled relationship, but maybe for some good reasons.

When someone dies (especially tragically) and leaves behind a family/young kids, typically rape allegations or what a dick the person could be aren’t brought up. Out of simple respect and decency if nothing else.
