He was on with Breed this week and said they put in a rule unless he is within 3 strokes of the field average he will no longer be able to use his past champion exemption for this event.  Not sure if the DQ impacts that or not.  He acknowledged there was a good chance it was his last time playing in the event.

I wonder if BD realizes how much stress and extra burden he put on along with gaining like 75 pounds of mostly fat.

 

The whole sports world is looking to be lean for the performance enhancement and he goes and loads his body with extra fat with no functional purpose besides in his mind.

-5.8 strokes gained putting

25% GIR

43% driving accuracy

237 yds driving avg

 

dunno if he pulled a ranger rick, but wonder what made him think he was ready to go for the event?

i mean if its me and its the one of the only PGA events I get in every year, sure I'm going to play. However, I'm not going to go out and embarrass myself to the point where I don't sign my scorecard after my Friday round.

For what it is worth I am pretty sure he lives nearby, so yeah games not great but its a PGA Tour event and he can sleep in his own bed. Arnold shot 89 in his last go around here if memory serves.

so Gamez gets a past winners exemption and shoots 92, doesnt sign his card intentionally so he gets DQ'd...no wonder he isn't playing the Champions Tour..., what a waste of a spot

He played the Champs Tour last week, and they're off for another month so nothing else for him to play in. I agree with you that it was a wasted spot.

You think you would just go ahead and sign the card. I mean, you're prob not playing this even again; and even though a 92 prob puts you deep down on the list of potential sponsor exemptions into other events, I feel a NC puts you down deeper than that.
