Club Builder in Massachusetts

I need(need haha) to get some custom ferrules installed on my irons in mass. Anybody have club world done at PGA superstore or Joe and Leigh’s in the area? PGA has a deal where they’ll currently do 8 clubs for $79, but I don’t want them destroyed. I’ve had them do some tip swapping and cutting down driver shafts which have been good. But ruining my new irons is a different story. 

 

I've also heard Spargo, but he wants $50 per club and $500 for ferrules seems like it’s a bit steep.

This guy played in our league last year and has a club building business.  He built several clubs for some of the league members and they were really pleased.  He is located in Medford, which is just north of Boston proper.  There is always Club Champion in Needham, MA too.

Will peoples out of NC? Not too expensive to mail them down. No idea what he charges for that but does very good work and quick turn around

I know! First timer here with only one set. It’s scary. But my 30 day eBay sales of $2,000 make me kind of happy. But also kinda sad. Sigh.

I also sent another set out today to Callaway to trade for a new driver. If you ask, they’ll give you a 50% bonus.

Spargo does great work. Brought irons to be bent there on a whim and were done in 25 minutes with no appointment. Youll definitely get what you pay for. Are you bringing your own ferrules or buying them from whoever does the work?

spargo wants $50/club to install ferrules?! seriously?

i've had shaft work done at both J&L's and CC, i prefer J&L's over CC, both in price and quality of work.

Damn, at $50 a club, thats steep. Did you make sure that didnt include ferrules because thats insane.

The email said that included a grip. I wrote back to the email and said I didn’t need mew grips, just a ferrule I have installed. No response.

PGA is a super hit or miss for me, brought a 3 wood in and they forgot to assemble after a week of it sitting there. I was over the pricing around here so I started assembling my own. If you have the space and materials, it’s actually pretty simple to do.

Call them. They may have misunderstood what you need. Also, Jon and Steve (it is a two person operation) get really busy and may have missed your second e-mail. 

 

Didn't you ask this question about a month ago? It strikes me that in order to switch out the ferrules they need to pull the shaft, remove the old ferrule, prepare the shaft and head and reassemble the clubs with a new ferrule. In otherwords a fair amount of labor is involved.
