Club Champion - Perfect Fit Guarantee Limitations/Conditions?

Recommended Posts

I recently got fitted for a new driver with a custom shaft ($1100) and quickly found out on the course it was soaring on me and consistently shorter than my current driver. I have an email to the fitter to discuss. Before that convo I wanted to be a bit more prepared on what their Perfect Fit Guarantee actually means..I've went through their website but didn't locate any specifics to this implied benefit. Does anyone know what this guarantee actually means? Can you start over with a new club and shaft and no cost? Are you limited to adjustments with the initially purchased club and shaft?

OP, probably a good idea to head on over to this thread and ask your question.  Can’t get more direct than that.

I have always wondered about Club Champion with this hypothetical situation. So lets say Clint goes to his local Club Champion for a full fitting taking his 2 year old clubs.  Finds out they recommend quite a few changes in lie angle and shaft specs. So Clint gives his credit card over and he gets new clubs made to his NEW Specs..  plays them for a week or so, then goes to a different Club Champion with his new clubs and gets a new club fitting.  How much you wanna bet they sell him a new set of clubs cuz something is not right.

Not my experience with Club champ, although, I haven't tried said above plan.  I found a fitter, had a good experience, and just kept going back.   Even had to move my business with him to another location, over an hour away.

He adjusts things I don't like, we bounce ideas, talk about new equipment releases then I go see him and typically leave with a purchase.

Not once have I had issues with the gear when I play.  Maybe I'm lucky. Maybe I'm different. Don't know.  But I've had great experience with club champ to the tune of close to 5-7 strokes on my GHIN, after my "own" fittings.

Hit the course and it works day 1.  Minor adjustments from there to get them tuned.

I have to agree as well with @WarEagleGolf.

My experience was great with my fitter. I've gone back many times to just chat or to pick up golf balls, many don't realize but they have great discounts on balls I think its close to 5 bucks less compared to golf galaxy... Recently had my loft and lies checked too. I wouldn't go anywhere else at this point. Handicap dropped after the season nearly 4 strokes, couldn't be happier.

Oh and def take the time to do a putter fitting its worth its weight in gold.

You're welcome to ask this in our AUA thread as mentioned, but we'll answer here for good measure. The headlines are this: our Perfect Fit Guarantee covers the club you purchased (if you had us build it — it will not cover an OEM build). We'll bring you in (for free, obviously) to get you back on TrackMan and see what adjustments need to be made to get the club back to the same numbers you saw during your fitting that ultimately led you to that club combo. If for some reason we can't find that sweet spot and it's directly related to the club or build, then we will talk about replacement options but it's situational at that point. We can nearly always find a tweak or adjustment that gets the club back on track.

Update: I now have a followup appointment to check out what the issue is with the new ($1100) Ping driver. The fitter told me they will go over the Trackman data from the original fitting and we'll then hit balls again with both my current Titleist driver and the new Ping. I hit both clubs again outside at the range again yesterday and there's clearly an issue. Not sure why I was fit for a 10.5 driver when I've always previously hit a 9 loft.

Anyway, I've been thinking through the Perfect Fit Guarantee. Those words should mean something when Club Champion uses them so clearly in their marketing. While Trackman data is fab ultimately the customer is in the hands of the Club Champion fitter to analyze this data and make suggested pairings (club head and shaft). Ultimately the final test for this new gear is the course. If the gear says one thing to the fitter while inside on Trackman great, but if it fails to produce in actual golf that's of course not optimal. The fitter in my eyes holds the responsibility of analyzing the complex set of data Trackman provides..not the retail customer who has zero training in using Trackman.

Seems like Club Champion's Perfect Fit Guarantee should follow out onto the course for the final test/evaluation...right? If someone, like myself, is seeing much shorter carry and higher ball flight, with Club Champion suggested gear while actually playing it only seems right their response should be "we'll fix it, no questions asked". Reading the Club Champion response above is less than comforting when they say "then we will talk about replacement options but it's situational at that point". It might be a good idea for them to spell out what the conditions and limitations of their guarantee is very clearly so consumers can evaluate before purchase.

To Club Champion I repeat ..words mean something..."The Perfect Fit Guarantee". Stand by your words and own up to them. No one is trying to take advantage of you here at all.
