Srixon ZX7 AW

I looked all over the internet for photos of the new approach wedge before ordering one... I couldn't find any, so just creating this thread to help out any others who would be interested

I have benn thinking hard and often about the ZX7 AW vs the Cleveland Zipcore... my wife thinks I'm daydreaming... anyhow, hit all the Srixon / Cleveland goodies today and I must say the Cleveland Zipcore 50* was very good. Solid, great feel, stable. Will put that in the bag but the AW is a great club as well. Can't go wrong with either!

I snagged it on a whim as well, very very happy with it. Blends great with my Vokeys and feels phenomenal

👍 Will go 50* mid, 54* and 58* full. The raw looked cool on the rack but the chrome was money behind the ball. Loved the DG Spinner shaft.

Hit mine today for the first time, and as someone else said, it’s lovely. It is a very nice bridge between the vokeys.

Thanks for sharing the picture. I ordered the AW with my ZX7 set. I believe it is 51*. I've never used a set AW before and look forward to hitting it.

I bought a 785 A wedge to use with my 765’s. Love it so far. Just brought in an RTX4 54* to go with the 58* I already had. Feeling good about my wedge options.

This wedge looks better to me than the zipcore wedge. If they made a SW and LW I’d order those too.

To the OP thank you for your service.  Can I ask a favour?  I would love to see how it compares at address next to the PW and your SW. Does it “flow” nicely?

Thank you for the public service pics.  If you use that loft/club for greenside work, please post your thoughts on its utility in that arena.  I love my set and have no doubt that V-Sole will be glorious on longer approaches.  However, after playing higher bounce wedges for years, I’m concerned it might not have quite enough junk in the trunk for my pitching/chipping.

Curious how it is on full shots as thats what I primarily use my gap wedge for on the course.  Just went up to pw in the zx7 for now.

Looks great!  If only I could find a way to order a one, let alone one with a custom shaft.  Also interested in a ZX Utility because might as well to all out right?  Closest dealer is over 40 miles away though and I’m in North Jersey.

Unfortunately I don't have ZX7 irons, but do have Z785, so here are shots of that PW next to this AW. 

And then vs RTX4 56* wedge (raw)

So for those keeping the loft at 51 how do your lofts progress through your wedges?  The way the Srixons are lofted you could have 5 degree increments from the 8 iron onwards?

Mine are at 50/54/58.  I think I'll see how far this 51 goes vs. my existing 50.  If a good, normal swing gets it on or slightly more than 100 yards, I won't mess with it and probably leave the 54 and 58 as is. If it needs to be weakened a degree no problem.

Pfft, turn in your wrx card sir! A 50*/51* gap wedge 100 yards? You should be ashamed of yourself. Even if true you should never ever admit it in print. 😏
