All-Fit Universal Adaptor Thread

PSA....make sure to use the right screw....I used a screw that was too long in my PXG head and upon trying to use the shaft in another head, noticed that the threading of the adapter was sticking out.  I was able to get the threading out by using another screw to grab hold and then unscrewing.  The threading is damaged and wont screw all the way back in.  Interestingly enough the original PXG screw fits into the adapter now.  Anyone now how to salvage the adapter (is there a way to find some of that inner threading to screw back in that will work), and I'm assuming the threading on the adapter as is now would not hold up (but??).

Which is the right sized screw? Did the collar come with it? I have PXG and don't want to screw it up

Still not 100% sure. I received a cobra screw (longest), standard screw, and a shorter one.  I used the standard screw which is about 1/4" longer then the shortest screw (which is the one I suspect I should've used).

Yes the collar came with it and if all you ordered was the adapter and pxg collar then the correct screw should be included with order.  I ordered several different collars and hence the confusion.

I had the exact same issue with the PXG Gen4 driver.  I used the standard screw and it caused the threading spring to break loose.

Try emailing customer support at All-Fit.  I can’t say for certain that you will have the same experience, but after a few friendly emails going back and forth, I was sent the “new” screws needed for the PXG Gen4 drivers as well as a replacement for the adapter that was damaged.  They addressed all the issues I had and made things right.

I can confirm that they now have a new screw specifically for the PXG Gen4 driver (was told the 2021 0211 driver uses the standard screw).  This screw is now being sent out with the PXG collar when ordered direct from All-Fit.

In my experience, their customer service has been top notch.  Give it a try and hopefully you will have the same experience that I did.

I used the correct screw but the threading still came out of one adapter. The spring is currently still on the screw, which is now stuck on the head. I can put another shaft on it (the spring just squishes down) but I would like to get the spring off the screw and the screw off the head. Any ideas how I could do that?

Also, any tips to make sure this doesn’t happen again? I used the standard screw on a G425 max head. I’m pretty sure I did everything right. Liam is super nice but I’m struggling to understand what he’s trying to say.

How recently did you purchase the adapter? Trying to determine if its the old standard screw or the newer standard screw.

Two weeks ago. And a screw didn’t come with the collar so I’m pretty sure the Ping screw is what is standard now.

Liam sent me a pdf of “tips” that is a little hard to understand. But what I might be missing is that the rubber washer goes into the head on the side of the shaft. Is that true?

The rubber washer (the one that comes with the adapter screw) goes in the head, its basically a stopper to stop the screw from being able to fall out.

Ok, Liam made it seem like the rubber washer is basically a spacer to make sure you don't screw it in too fair. I just find that a little hard to believe because its so small.

I'm thinking about leaving the spring on the screw to act as a "spacer" to make sure this doesn't happen again. Anyone see an issue with that?

Does your driver head with the original oem screw have any washers on the outside of the head? (Besides the rubber washer that goes inside)

I had a G425 head until recently. I took out the original OEM Ping screw. This does NOT have a washer between the top of the screw and the driver. It has a fairly wide white rubber washer that goes inside. That's to prevent the screw falling out.

So the screw with the spring screwed onto it is still in my G425 head. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get it off. I tried screwing the shaft that now doesn’t have that thread spring back in, didn’t work. I’ve tried trying to use tweezers to hold the spring in place while I unscrewed the screw out of it. That didn’t work either. Anyone have any ideas how to get it out?

Im perfectly fine with ruining the screw.

Might be able to get a pair of wire cutters on the screw. Wear some safety glasses. If that screw breaks, that piece will go flying.

It's hard to see, but the spring is screwed to the the screw at the very bottom.

How tough is that threading material? have you tried using a pick to unwind it from the screw? I would also try getting a pair of wire cutters on the screw head and see if you can cut it off. Last thing is trying to use a dremel attachment to break the screw. Put some tape around the screw on the driver to minimize any damage from trying these methods. I don't know if these ideas will work but after looking at it, that is what I would try.

Can you thread a nut on the screw inside the head? Use it to tighten the screw so it doesn't move and then drill out the screw? Or keep tightening the nut/loosening the screw to compress the spring. Maybe it will pop off when the nut does?

Is there any part of the screw that comes out of the head? If there is, use the dremel like KJ said, cut it and perhaps once there is a groove in the screw, snap the screw off. The danger there is the closeness to the head and doing damage if you slip the dremel

I think you need other pics to show how much of the screw comes out and how much of it sinks inside the head so others can assess the issue...

The alternative is to drill the sucker out but you need access to a press drill and something to stabilize & hold the head and screw. That is dangerous too...

Well I finally got the screw off. I tried everyones’s suggestions without success, ended up getting pissed and pried the screw out using a flathead screwdriver. The spring ended up just coming through the side of the screw head.

I can confirm on my end that the 'A' screw is what fit for me in my Cobra LTD Pro. The C Screw was way too long. B screw working in my Mizuno STG and my Callaway Epic Speed. I am still using the OEM washers on the Callaway head as well.
