Callaway Chrome Soft LS (Low Spin) ball

Just saw the new offering from Callaway for a low spin tour level ball. Details were slim on compression and measured performance, which I know will come once it's released. I wonder if this is going to be closer to the left dash or if it will just fall near a TP5X/ProV1x to capture some of that market since Callaway is stuck in this "soft" marketing loop

Wonder if these are what their Tour Staff actually play...  Would love to try them myself.

I would definitely give this ball a try. I really liked how the left dash performed but couldn’t get past the feel. If this performs similar to the left dash but has better feel it could be a winner for me. I also like that it will be offered in yellow.

I'd love for TXG to test the LD, ProV1X, Zstar XV, Chrome X LS, and new TP5X together...

 

I know full flight would be ideal, but initial launch and feel would be a great starting point.

The most played ball on our Tour Staff is the standard CSX golf ball (Rahm, Xander, Phil, etc) but the CSX LS is also in play.   Early converts who play the LS ball are Marc Leishman and Wesley Bryan.

The website that cannot be named has it as a left dash TP5X alternate.

this is one I am really excited about.  been a long time tp5x guy but not liking that this newer model has more spin.  Hope this ls ball is similar to tp5x and left dash as mentioned above.

I've been able to play one round with it, and while I was far from my sharpest the ball did show its quality when I was able to get out of its way.

Not gonna oversell it here, but will say it's well worth giving an opportunity to be your ball of choice for this coming season. I saw enough from it to say it's quite likely that I'll be switching to it, but of course others may experience it differently.

Mr. Finley is right that most of the Callaway staff play the X ball that can be found in your pro shop in the black box. They are, however, playing on greens with firmness and speed that the vast majority of us rarely, if ever, see which makes the higher iron and wedge spin on offer in that ball so important. The XLS ball offers players the ability to in essence shorten the golf course without sacrificing spin rates sufficient to score their best on the greens conditions us mere mortals typically see.
